Wednesday Update!

Happy December 1st!

I hope y'all are having a good week! I have been subbing all week and getting reading for graduation! I cannot believe I graduate from Texas A&M in 18 days! I have been addressing graduation announcements all week and I plan to mail them out soon! I also booked our New York trip a week or so ago! We leave Christmas Day! I'm SOOO excited!

Yesterday A&M announced that the Aggies are headed to the Cotton Bowl! WHOOP! : ) I'm not sure who we are playing yet. I hope we can get tickets.....I think it is going to really hard though!

 Have y'all heard about Taylor Swift and Jake Gyllenhaal dating? I just read about it the other day on People.com. He seems a little too old for her! She is one lucky girl! 

Tonight I'm just going to relax and watch the movie Eat Pray Love with Julia Roberts. Have y'all seen it yet? I hope it is good!

Halloween and Storybook Character Costume Help!

I love Halloween! It is one of my favorite holiday's! I just have so much fun dressing up! Last night my friend Kristan and I went Halloween costume shopping! Kristan found her outfit....but not me! I always buy the really expensive costumes and this year I'm not wanting to spend a lot of money. I'm thinking this year I might go as one of the Jersey Shore girls! What do you think?! My friend Kimberly thinks I should go as Snooki since I'm short, ha! I was thinking I could wear a lot of makeup, big earrings, and fake nails! Any more suggestions on how to pull off a girl from the Jersey Shore?

Also, next week is drug awareness week and we get to dress up differently each day. On Wednesday we get to dress up like a character from a storybook! Do you have any suggestions on who I could be???? I wanna go simple!

Sick AGAIN and Scorpions!

Well....I'm sick again! I think I need to build up my immune system! I have a really bad cough and can barley talk. Yesterday I went to the doctor and spent $45 for him to just tell me that I have the common cold virus. He also told me that I have a heart murmur. He said it's mild and that I should not worry. Do y'all know exactly what a heart murmur is? Last year I had an EKG and everything showed up fine so I'm not too sure if I believe him. He seemed really inexperienced.

Guess what two kids found in the classroom today?! A scorpion! YIKES! We are studying bugs right now so whenever they yelled SCORPION we at first did not believe them....we figured it was fake. But sure enough...it was real! Our brave custodian came down and removed it from our classroom for us! How scary!

Just Another Random Monday!

1. College Station - I have been home for a little over a week. I'm back in College Station as of today!

2. Teaching Clothes - This past weekend my mom took me shopping for teaching clothes! I bought a lot of stuff!! At Kohls I bought three pairs of capris, two bras, and a shirt for only $80! We saved over $144! I love Kohls! We also went to Macy's, TJ Maxx, Target, Stein Mart, and Dillards! Here is one of my favorite outfits and a cute pair of flats I bought! 

I think I'm going to wear this my first day of student teaching! I will probably wear a cardigan with it.

Did you know that I love zebra print? Ha! Don't worry, I will not be wearing the dress with these shoes!

3. Meet The Teacher - Meet the teacher night is this coming Friday for the school I will be doing my student teaching at! I'm so excited!

4. PPR Exam - I take my PPR teacher certification test this coming Wednesday. All week I have been studying so I hope I pass! I feel that this test might be a little easier than the content exam because it is material that I have actually learned in all my education classes. 

5. Bellini's - My mom and I went to The Cheesecake Factory last Friday and we ordered Peach Bellini's for drinks..... sooo good!

6. Eat Pray Love - I'm really wanting to see this movie. Have y'all seen it yet? Was it good? I love Julia Roberts!

8. Hot - It is hot as blazes here in Texas! If you go outside for even five minutes you are drenched in sweat. Bring on October! I have been ordering a lot of Sonic drinks to keep cool!

9. Bachelor Pad - Bachelor Pad is tonight! Are y'all going to watch? I love all the drama! I have a funny vlog I'm going to post later this week....stay tuned!!

Weekend, Classroom Stuff, Playlist, and New Workout Clothes!

How was your weekend? Mine was pretty good. Friday night we ate dinner at this Italian restaurant in Bryan called Cafe Capri. It's a neat little place.  I didn't take any pictures....can you believe that? Saturday we spent the day hanging out by the pool. Oh man was it HOT! I think the heat index was around 100 degrees! 

OMG y'all...I'm like in love with the dollar spot at Target! Remember the cute Dr. Seuss bags I bought last week for a dollar? Well today I went back and they had tons of teacher stuff! I was jumping up and down I was so excited! Kristan - I tried to call you but you didn't answer! : ) I know it will be until next year till I have my own classroom but it's always good to start collecting stuff early!

I thought these little signs were too cute - I'm thinking I could use them to help with classroom management.

My Weekend!

Hope everyone had a wonderful weekend! My parents and Aunt came into town Friday night for Parents Weekend! Saturday morning we went to the Aggie Mom Boutique....they had a bunch of cute stuff! We got my Grandma a U.T./A&M House Divided stepping stone! Afterwards, we went to the Bevo Burn BBQ.

Last night we all went to the movies to see Date Night with Tina Fey and Steve Carell...it was hilarious! I love both of them!!

My parents left this morning....I always joke that they always leave my place a MESS when they leave!! So I will be spending my day cleaning! Ha!

Yesterday I posted pictures of Caitlin's Aggie Ring Day....here is one last picture I forgot to put up! Kristan was our photographer....she made sure everyone was in the right position!! LOL. I have my content EC-6th Exam tomorrow so I will be studying the rest of today!!!

Spring Break is Almost Here and Rodeo!

Tomorrow is my last day of classes before spring break! Yay! I wish I didn't have to go ALL day though! Tomorrow evening I'm heading back home so I can go to the Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo with my dad on Friday! I love the Houston Rodeo...we go every year! I love going through the livestock part, going to the carnival, watching the bull riding, and EATING! The rodeo has the best food....nachos, funnel cakes, corn on the cob...YUM!

We are seeing Toby Keith....wish I could be there tonight for Rascal Flatts! Who is your favorite country singer?My friend Kimberly is coming to stay with me for part of SB! I cannot wait to lay out by her pool with a cold sonic drink, get a manicure/pedicure, and go to the Rodeo NEXT Friday again with my friend Kristan to see the Eli Young Band! :)

It's Friday!

T.G.I.F!!!!!

It's been a long week! Yesterday afternoon I treated myself to getting a pedicure! I needed a pedicure BAD! I was a little embarrassed! The oriental lady who was giving me one said, "ohhh it's been awhile....your toenails are long". Ha!
After my pedicure I went and got Freebirds. Love their burritos! When I got home I watched some American Idol and crashed! Do y'all have a favorite this season yet? I don't but I'm sure in the next couple weeks I will! I cannot believe that one girl with the curly hair got kicked off last night!This weekend I have two lesson plans and a project to work on! And then next Friday starts my Spring Break! Yay! I'm countin' down! Have a great weekend!

It's Friday!!!

(I had this post scheduled for Friday morning but for some reason it published tonight...weird). So did y'all watch the game? At first I wanted Alabama to win but as it got closer to the game I couldn't decide what team to root for. I wanted Alabama to win since I'm an Aggie and I'll root for any team playing against U.T. But....U.T. is in the Big 12....soo I couldn't make up my mind?! I felt so bad for Colt Mccoy. This was his last game ever and he got hurt within the first 5 minutes of the game. I would of been so mad!

Earlier this year I was experiencing chest and arm pain/discomfort. My doctor ran an EKG on me and everything turned out fine. Well this past week the discomfort came back so yesterday I had a 24 heart monitor put on me. It is different from an EKG because monitors my heart activity during my normal daily activities. In the waiting room I swear every person except me was over 70! I was a little embarrassed for being in there! Today at 2:30 I can take it off and hopefully next week I will find out the results!

It is SO cold here in Texas right now! I wish we would get some snow though! It is supposed to be in the teens this weekend - that's a little too cold for this southern girl! It's freakin colder in the south than it is in Alaska right now! That's global warming for ya!

Monday

Today was my last day of class for the semester! All I have now is finals...I have one tomorrow and one next Monday! I feel SO relieved and productive to have everything done! I am going home later this week for my cousins birthday party and to put up Christmas decorations. I will come back to CS on Sunday to go to my friends Christmas party and then to take my last final.

Did y'all watch the Carrie Underwood special tonight? I love Carrie Underwood...my cousin was saying that one of her old cheer choreographers choreographed Carrie's new music video - Cowboy Casanova!This past weekend my mom and her sisters went to Frisco/Canton, Texas to do some Christmas shopping. While they were there Sarah Palin was doing a book signing tour - I am guessing at a Barnes and Nobles? They were going to try to go but to get in without a ticket was over $200!!! However, they did get to take a picture in front of her tour bus - the guy in the picture said he was the bus driver. They didn't believe him though! LOL. He is pretty cute though!!!
Well I am going to go get back to studying!!!

I'm STILL alive!!!

I'm still alive!! This past week has been SO busy! Wednesday night I stayed up till almost 2:00 in the morning doing lesson plans. You wanna know what time I woke up to finish them?? 3:45 am!!! I also had to observe that next morning from 8:00 to 11:00...boy was I tired!!! I am surprised I did not crash like this girl...

I am so happy this week is over!

I ended up coming home this weekend because I had a doctor's appt. Friday afternoon. Friday night my dad and I went out to eat for Mexican food! Then after that I met my friend Matt for drinks at Chili's! Today my dad and I went car shopping...yes he is FINALLY getting a new car! He has been driving a 1995 Honda Civic that has over 300 thousand miles and no air. Can you imagine how hot that is during the summer?!?! This time he is going to buy a Honda Accord...he is thinking about getting either a white one or dark blue.

There is a little less than three weeks till Thanksgiving break and about five weeks till Christmas break...I CANNOT WAIT!!! I am pretty sure I will be doing cartwheels come December. :-) Hope ya'll had a great weekend!!

Sunday Baking!

Yesterday I finished three pages of my five page research paper. I feel so accomplished! Tonight I am going to study for a midterm I have coming up. And then tomorrow I am going to try an knock out another project. I am trying to get all these assignments done early so I wont be so stressed out next week when it is all due. Today I woke up and decided to go on a walk at a park nearby. It felt so good outside this morning...there was a nice fall breeze in the air. I am going to try and start exercising at least four times a week...I have been SO bad this semester!

Ya'll should be proud of me...I have baked two things today! For lunch I marinated and baked chicken breasts with this yummy marinade called Caribbean Jerk.

You should try it!


And right now I am baking some brownies and watching I Love Lucy episodes! I have loved that show for years...it is hilarious!

Holiday Countdown

Wednesday's and Thursday's are always SO busy for me! My mom had everyone text me yesterday saying "Happy Wednesday" because she knows just how much I LOVE Wednesday's! Not! Yesterday I worked on statistics with my friend from 8:00 pm to 1:00 am. Ughh! I had my second stats test on Tuesday night and I found out today that I passed! THANK GOD! I failed my first test so I was really worried about passing the class. Today I had to get up before the crack of dawn to go observe at a elementary school. Afterwards, I came home for lunch and then went to my two afternoon classes. My class does not end till 5:10 so I had to rush to meet my Conversation Partner at Starbucks at 6:00. (I mentioned in a previous post that I am meeting with an English Language Learner once a week this semester who is from South Korea). Today I brought some pictures to share with her of my family. My ELL partner's husband said that my mom was just beautiful! Mom - I knew you would LOVE that!

Today at Starbucks I ordered the Pumpkin Spice Latte...it was good!

I am SOOO excited because tomorrow I am going home for the weekend! I have not been home since August so I am def. going to have to go to my favorite Mexican restaurant tomorrow night!!! :) My mom texted me earlier and was like, "I asked your father earlier if he thought you were wanting to be wined and dined this weekend"? Of course! Ha!

Well I am going to go get busy on homework! I have to finish a paper, write a reflection, and take a quiz before tomorrow!! I'm tired!!! Who else is counting down the days till Christmas?

The Weekend is HERE!

The weekend is here...yay!!!!

Well I survived the first week of school...thank God! It is soo hard getting back into a routine. I swear every teacher tells you about five different things...it's difficult to remember it all! I have been so stressed out and tired this week. Sorry if I have not been commenting as much on your blogs...I barley have anytime to get on the computer! Every night I have been in bed by like 10:30 and I have been out as soon as my head hits the pillow! That's not like me because usually I like to watch at least an hour of TV before falling asleep.


I wanted to tell ya something kinda funny that happened yesterday. When I got home from school yesterday I had a sandwich for lunch and a glass of Diet Dr. Pepper (my fav). Without thinking I decided to shake the 2 liter bottle of Diet Dr. Pepper before I opened it...don't ask me why. So I twisted off the cap and the Dr. Pepper went ALL over my floor, cabinets, and carpet. I just stood there for a second looking at my floor thinking why in the heck did I just do that. I then closed my eyes and counted to ten so I wouldn't freak out. I know your thinking what an IDIOT! That's what being stressed and getting NO sleep does to ya! Makes you go crazy! Ha!

Tomorrow is the first Texas A&M football game. I'm excited! BTHO New Mexico!

Exausted!!!

The past few days I have been feeling a little like this lady...
EXTREMELY TIRED!!!

Probably because summer is over and I am back to the books!!

Can you believe that these books cost over $400...crazy!!

I just started school yesterday and I am already exhausted! I am not sure if it's because I hardly got any rest this weekend or what? I hope I start feeling better soon! Yesterday I had three classes...Junior Methods (which is an education curriculum class), an ESL class, and an educational statistics class. I hope that statistics class does not kick my butt! Then today I had two more classes....another ESL class and a reading class called Reading and Writing Across the Middle Grades Curriculum. All of my teachers seemed pretty nice. The first week is always so overwhelming since I am still trying to figure everything out. I called my friend Natalia earlier and I was like I will see you tomorrow in Dr. Self's class....she was like we don't have that class again till Friday. See what I mean...ha! Tonight I went to Wal-Mart/Target to buy school supplies. This evening I am going to try to get organized!!!

The Season of Fall and the Interview!

Are ya'll as ready for Fall as I am?

I wish it looked like this in Texas...the leaves change but not like this! Does it look like this where ya'll live?

It was so weird yesterday evening I walked outside from my apartment and it was actually really cool outside! It was by no means cold but cooler. It gets soo hot here in Texas during the summer (like in the high 90's or 100's pretty much everyday) so I am always ready for the cooler weather. But when it gets really cold I wish it was summer again! Ha! I have really started liking the Fall lately. I love fall decorations, the smell of leaves burning, pumpkins, cooler weather, Halloween parties, and getting ready for Thanksgiving/Christmas. What's your favorite thing about the Fall?

So this morning I had my interview! I was kinda nervous but I think it went well. Two professors here at A&M are needing someone to care for their newborn daughter a couple days a week while their working. You know that will be right up my alley because I ♥ babies!! They both seemed really nice and the little girl was really sweet. They said they have a few more people to interview and will get back with me soon if I got the job or not. So keep your fingers crossed!

New Haircut and a Funny Picture!

Last Saturday I got my hair done at Visible Changes in The Woodlands. I put more highlights/lowlights into it and got it cut. My hair was getting pretty long since I had not had a haircut since like March. I was just going to get 2 inches trimmed off like I usually do but at the last minute I decided to try something NEW! I saw a girl in the salon with the cutest haircut so I told my hair dresser I wanted something similar. It's longer in the front and shorter in the back. (You can tell better from my side view picture). I love Visible Changes...they can be a little pricey but I always leave happy. (That's all what counts). Ha! I was so nervous to cut soo much off but I really like it...my friend Kristan said it makes me look more hip. Ha!

The other day I was watching Inside Edition (I love celebrity gossip) and I saw the funniest thing. This couple was vacationing in Canada and were taking a vacation photo last year behind some mountains. When they got back home and got their film developed this little guy happened to show up in their picture....


Is that not funny or what? They said that they put a timer on their camera so they could both be in the picture and they had no idea that this little squirrel popped up! This couple have became famous over this picture...they have been on Good Morning America, Inside Edition, and other news shows/papers.

UPDATE: I just got through reading Mckmama's blog and she posted about the same thing today. The lady in the picture is her son Stellan's home care nurse! What a small world!

It's Wednesday Already!

I haven't really had to much to blog about lately. I have just been going to school and studying....sounds like fun huh? This week I took my 3rd calculus test and I passed it! I ended up making a C on it but at least I passed it! One more week till the class is OVER!!! I decided to get a new blog layout this week. Do you like it or do you like the old one better? I just wanted something different! I really want to get a custom design layout....maybe I will get one made later this year.

Last night my friend Kyle was having some people over to check out his new house off of Spring Cypress and Grant. His house is so nice and huge! I hope when I am 25 I can buy a house like that! He has two guy roommates that just moved in with him so it's going to be a total bachelor pad!

So Paula Abdul is for sure leaving Idol. I'm kinda sad. I don't think the show will be the same with out her. I thought the producers did not renew her contract. But supposedly she is leaving because they are not paying her enough.

Also, my Aunt sent me a video clip of Jillian and Ed on Good Morning America today. Supposedly, there are rumors that he cheated on her and that he has been keeping in touch with his ex-girlfriend's through this whole thing. They both denied the rumors and said it wasn't true.
