Girls Night!

Saturday we had a girls night after The Big Event. We planned to go to Texas Roadhouse and then the movies. We had been craving Texas Roadhouse all that day! But when we got there, there was an hour wait! So we ended up going to eat Mexican food instead. We wanted to go somewhere other than Los Cucos so I recommend going to Fredricko's (the place I had my high school graduation party). We should of just went to Los Cucos because the food was pretty bad! Afterwards, Natalia, Kristan, Cait, and I decided to rent Nick and Nora's Infinite Playlist instead of going to see a movie. It's pretty cute! Poor Kristan got sick though. Tonight we are going to go back to Roadhouse bc im sure there wont be a wait on a Monday night!

The Big Event and meeting President Bush!

Last night my friend Natalia and I went to Brenham to babysit at a church for Parents Night Out. A girl that's in Aggie Sister's for Christ with Natalia put it on as a fundraiser to make money to go to El Salvador in August for a mission trip. I was so excited that I got put in the nursery. I love babies! I was in the room by myself and at first it was okay bc I just had two babies. One was a little boy who was 12 months and the other was a little girl who was 18 months. But then 3 more came in that were 5 months and 15 months. I was getting kinda nervous! Lol. But thankfully I got some help...Natalia ended up coming into the nursery with me. One little girl cried the WHOLE time and if we put her down she would start screaming. The best one was the 5 month old. She was a cute little black girl names Alayna. She was the best baby she didn't cry once!!!

Once a year at A&M they put on this thing called The Big Event. It's where the students at A&M help out around the community for the day to say thanks. Kristan and I forgot to sign up in Feb. so we were hoping that we could sign up today. When we got there they let us sign up and make our own group. We named our group Short Stuff since we are both under 5 foot. Ha! Between 8-9 they had a band playing and speakers. And the last speaker was President George Bush Senior! After he spoke, Kristan and I tried to get closer to the stage to get a better picture of him. Then Kristan told me she was gonna ask him if we can come on stage to take a picture with him and Mrs. Bush. So Kristan goes, "Mr. President I was wondering if I could possibly take a picture with you. My uncle got to take a picture with you a couple years back at an Astros game and is always bragging about it. Could my friend Christa and I come on stage to take a picture with you"? I was acting like I didn't know her and was trying to hide my face. President Bush said of course we could. Then I decided to be her friend again...since he said we could. I was like oh yeah the friend she is talking about is me! So the secret service let us get on stage and they took a picture of us with President Bush and Barbara. Afterwards, everyone was asking us how we got to go up there. Here is a picture of us on stage with him! I took it with my camera phone so its not the best.

Kristan and I got assigned a job today washing windows at this old lady's house in Bryan. She was probably in her eighties and she was really sweet. We were happy we didn't get assigned something too heavy duty! Haha!

Almost Friday!

I actually got to watch American Idol this week! I thought Matt did a really good job singing Lets Get it On. And I really liked the way Allison sang Papa Was a Rolling Stone. Adam seems a little different but definitely has a lot of talent! I cant believe Matt was in the bottom 3 tonight. I thought Megan should of been one of the bottom 3 instead of him. She cant sing or dance. But I'm glad the other guy got kicked off instead of Matt. Did you see Smokey Robinson and that girl sing? They were horrible! My mom thought they needed to get a room! ha! He was too old to be up there and kept starring at that girl.

This week I have been trying to figure out my school schedule out for the summer. I signed up to take calculus at Lonestar College in The Woodlands the second half of the summer. I need to take this class at a community college since last semester I had to drop it at A&M. Then the first half of the summer I need to take an online math course though Houston Community College and INST at A&M. However, the only teacher they have teaching the INST class I heard is horrible and doesn't know how to teach. So I'm not sure what to do! I am meeting with an advisor tomorrow to see if I can take something else instead of the INST. So this means no vacation to Florida or wherever unless we go between summer 1 and 2 sessions :(

Tomorrow night I am volunteering at a church in Brenham with my friend Natalia. We are going to babysit from 6:30-11:30. And Saturday is the Big Event (which is a huge event where people volunteer for the city of College Station/Bryan). Kristan and I forgot to register for it so we are hoping we can still do it! DWTS, Jon & Kate Plus 8, American Idol

Have ya'll been watching DWTS? Who are your favorites? I still like Melissa, Shawn, and Chuck Wicks. Last night I thought the Apple co-founder guy Steve Wozniak did horrible!! I cannot believe he didn't get kicked off tonight! People must be voting for his partner Karina Smirnoff. I'm happy Denise Richards got kicked off. She seemed so uncomfortable out on the dance floor. I cant believe her hair piece fell out last night!

Have you ever seen the TV show on TLC called Jon and Kate Plus 8? I just started watching it this year...since I FINALLY have cable! Haha! Jon and Kate have a set of twins and a set of sextuplets. Kate is always getting on Jon for something and is kind of moody. But I think I would be too if I had that many kids. Supposedly, Jon cheated on her and there is a picture of it online. I'm not too sure if I believe that or not. Who could cheat on someone with 8 kids? Last night on the season finale they kinda talked about the rumor. They said they are not sure if they are coming back next season because of it.

I love American Idol and this season I have not been watching!! I think it is because I'm busier this semester and I have night class on Wednesday. Tomorrow night my class is cancelled so maybe I will watch it. I heard everyone is really good this season? Do ya'll have a favorite yet? Cant you tell I love reality TV? lol

It's over!! Back to school :(

Friday was a lot of fun! My friend Kristan's mom got free tickets to see Taylor Swift and Kristan invited Caitlin and I. Thank you Kristan for inviting us and letting us stay with you! We had a lot of fun checking out the cute cowboys, riding the rides, and eating! Ha! The carnival part is really expensive now! Each ride cost about 8 or 9 tickets. So we split the price of 100 tickets for $50. We got to ride about 3 rides each. I was so sore the next day from holding on so tight! And a corn dog cost 8 bucks! We ran into Michelle, George, Lauren, and Cameron there! Also, my friend Natalia went and I got to meet her mom!

Taylor Swift was really good! She really got the crowd going. She said that she has never seen a crowd that big before. There was like over 70,000 people there. I got back to College Station today. Caitlin and I went to go lay out today by the pool. We were joking that college is the life! :) I'm dreading starting school back up tomorrow!!! Hope everyone had a great weekend and spring break!

I for got to mention that during the concert Taylor Swift introduced one of the guys in her band and when she introduced him he started playing the Aggie War Hymn song on his in guitar thing. I am guessing he went to A&M. It also looked like he had an A&M ring on this finger. So that was pretty cool!

Taylor Swift and Goose's Acre

I'm about to head off to the mall to try and find an outfit for the Rodeo tomorrow night. My friend Kristan got us all free tickets tomorrow night to see Taylor Swift! I am really excited because I have never seen her before in concert. Caitlin actually got to meet her a couple years back at a concert in Atlanta. We are planning on spending the entire day at the Rodeo tomorrow to do the carnival and stuff. This is Caitlin's first time ever to go to the Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo!Yesterday, my mom and I went to go get pedicure's which was nice. I realllly needed it!! My toes were pretty bad! My mom always jokes they look like Mammy's. Ha! Last night my good friend Maegen and I went to dinner at 7 Leguas. Then we went to the Woodlands River walk to have a drink at a pub called Goose's Acre Bistro and Irish Pub. It's really nice because they have a patio you can sit on and it is right by the river. Sometimes they also have a live band at night. I wonder if one day if the river walk in The Woodlands will have as many restaurants on it as the one in San Antonio??

We finally made it back from South Padre Monday night! We had a great time!! We left Friday afternoon around 1:00...we had to pack the car when it was raining and cold! That was not fun! We took two separate cars since 5 people were going and all of us had so much stuff to take. Kimberly and Kristan rode with me and Jessica rode with Cait. It wasn't too bad of a drive. I think since I was not riding alone made it easier. We also made a few CD's to listen to in the car the night before. It should of only took us 7 hours but we stopped a couple of times to get gas and to eat. We stopped and ate dinner in Harlingen at Chili's.

After dinner we decided to stop at Wal-Mart before crossing the bridge to get to Padre so we could get stuff for the weekend. We ended up getting to the motel around 11. When we first pulled up we were thinking man what a nice place! Ha! Just kidding! This motel is not open 24/7 so they had a key for us in the night box. When we walked in it smelled pretty bad and Kim saw a bug on the floor. Kimberly said that next year she is making the reservations! We decided to take a walk on the beach that night...but that did not last too long because of the cold wind. That night we just hung out in the motel and played games with Justin and Cody who live in College Station as well. (They are Caitlin's boyfriend Matt's friends). The next morning it was STILL rainy and cold! We all got up and decided to go eat at Pizza Hut.

Kimberly and IThat night we went to a club called Louie's. Even though it was freezing that night we still wanted to wear our new spring break clothes that we had bought! We thought it would not be to bad since we would only have to be outside just to get into the club. But we were wrong! Louies is an outside bar/club and it was freeezing! We didn't stay there too long because it was cold and really expensive. Cody grew up really close to Padre so he knows a lot of people down there. So after Louie's we decided to go get in his bosses boat to watch a movie. It was sooo nice! It had a couch, big screen tv, refrigerator, bathroom and everything in it!

The next day was STILL cold and wet. :( We went and ate seafood at place that Greg's friend owns. It was pretty good! Afterwards, we decided to go swimming in the motel pool since they had it heated. That day we met some people Texas Tech and had dinner with them that night. We ate at this really good restaurant called Amberjack's. I had coconut shrimp which I love! My friend Kaitlyn from back home was in Padre this past weekend too and she came up to Amberjack's to have a drink with us. That night we went back to the motel and partied some more with the people we met from Tech!

Now to the funny/scary part of the trip! Later that night while we were still hanging out with our new Texas Tech friends we see this girl walking up with these Hispanic boys (who are staying in a room right by us). The Hispanic guys were all over this girl and looked like they were trying to force her in to their room. We were really nice to this girl and told her that she could hang out with us. She said that she went to Tech and she was down on Spring Break with her friends. She said she just got back from the club. For some reason she got kicked out, lost her phone, and lost her ID. She thought she was getting in a taxi but somehow these Hispanic guys picked her up. And she did not know any of her friends numbers who were still at the club. She told us that she was really scared that the guys who picked her up were part of the drug mafia. Awhile later Cait got to thinking that the whole thing seemed really shady and weird. We decided that she did not need to stay with us. We thought that maybe the whole thing was a set up or something. The Tech guys were really nice and took her home. Anyways, we go to bed and around 6 AM we get woken up to this BEEP BEEP BEEP noise. Cait gets up and think it is coming from our door. We all get scared thinking that maybe these Hispanic guys put a bomb outside our door! Cait's the first one who tries to attempt to open the door...but then backs out. Then Kimberly decides she will be brave and open it...then she backs out. Then we were thinking maybe these guys were trying to lure us out! I'm on the phone calling the front desk to tell them about the noise. (Which they did not answer bc they do not open till 8am). Finally, Cait realizes that the BEEP noise is coming from Kristan's IPOD home! Haha! We were cracking up! We could see us being in the South Padre news! 5 girls calling the police for thinking they hear a bomb going off! Ha!

The next morning was BEAUTIFUL! Just are luck! We left around 1:30 to head back to College Station! :( We got back last night around 8. We had a great time!! I am now back in Conroe for the rest of spring break. Kimberly is leaving tomorrow and then on Friday I am going to the Rodeo to see Taylor Swift!!

Spring Break Shopping

Yesterday after classes at Blinn I had to hurry and get to A&M for a tutoring session. On the way back I ran into my friend Kristan and I took the bus with her back home. Luckily, I remembered right when Kristan was about to get off the bus that my car was still on campus! Ha! She was nice and drove me to pick up my car. Afterwards, my cousin Caitlin and I went shopping. I need some cute sun dresses and a swimsuit for Padre. I did not have any luck at the mall :( The only thing I bought there was a coverup for my swim suit from Charlotte Russe for only $2.50! That made me happy! We went to Kohls after the mall and I found a this cute sun dress!

Kimberly is coming down tonight and she is staying at my parents house. Then tomorrow she is going to come to College Station so we can leave on Friday for Padre! I have two more tests this week then I'm done! Thank god! I think this week has probably been my most stressful out of the whole semester. I mean come on...why do professors have to make us take tests and write papers the week before Spring Break? Don't they know we have better stuff to do like shop, tan, and pack! Ha! We leave in 2 days...Spring Break South Padre 2009!

DWTS- Melissa did really good!

Tonight while I was studying for my geography test I had DWTS on in the background. I didn't want to miss Melissa from the Bachelor perform! She seemed really nervous but did good! I loved how she was so excited! I bet being a Dallas Cowboys cheerleader helped her out a lot! I also saw a glimpse of Shawn Johnson...she is another one of my favorites along with Chuck Wicks! He is pretty cute! Well I have one test down four more to go and a paper! I'm going to get back to working on my essay! Who are your favorite contestants on DWTS this season???

5 more days!

This weekend was a lot of fun! I should of been studying this weekend but that did not happen. This coming week I have one quiz, five tests, and a paper due! uhh!! Thursday night I went home and right when I got there my parents took me to my favorite place! 7 Leguas! Afterward, I met some of my friends at Molly's. Friday morning I had a dentist appointment which was no fun! haha. Later that night I met my friend Rachel for dinner at 7 Leguas again! I can eat Mexican food any day. It was good seeing everyone again! Saturday my dad and I went to the Rodeo in Houston. We went to the livestock part when we first got there and saw newborn baby calf's and pigs. Then, we watched people get on the mechanical bull which was funny. Maybe when Caitlin, Kristan and I go in a couple weeks one of us will do it!! I'm sure I would make a fool out of myself! The actual rodeo started at 3:45 and Trace Adkins was the performer. He was pretty good! I'm now back in College Station and getting ready to start studying. This is going to be a loooong week! 5 more days till Padre! :)

Happy Wednesday!

The past two days have been very looong! I am taking a finite math class online through Houston Community College. Supposedly its a lot easier than taking it at Blinn or A&M. The first test was pretty easy just basic algebra stuff. But the second test I am studying for is a little bit more difficult! I decided I needed to find a tutor so I can pass it. The tutor that I had yesterday, I found through a flyer at Blinn and she was ok.. she seemed like she wasn't too comfortable with the material herself. I was trying to explain to her that I did not like the method the book wanted us to use and that I wanted to use a different method. I mentioned since it was an online class that it did not really matter what method I used. And she goes, "well we need to be honest". I was thinking omg I just want to pass the test! Today I met with another private tutor I found through a university tutor website and she was very helpful! She is a management major at A&M and took the class last semester. She taught me all of these cool ways to work out the problems using a graphing calculator! Much easier and way faster! I think I will call her back and not the first one!!Tomorrow I am going home because I have a dentist appointment on Friday morning. Also, my dad and I are going to the rodeo on Saturday to see Trace Adkins! We usually go every year so I am excited! We like to get their early to eat, go the livestock part, and watch the actual rodeo before the performance. I am excited cause I am 21 this year and I can actually buy a beer

The Final Rose Goes Too???

Tonight my friend Natalia and cousin Caitlin came over to watch the final episode of The Bachelor! Cait and Natalia both already knew who won because of the spoiler alert that got out. I told them that they better not tell me!! I actually thought all along he was going to pick Melissa. I thought she was really sweet and truly cared about him. I thought Jason and Melissa felt more comfortable around each other and he had a better connection with her. Also, Ty really seemed to like her. And I guess Jason thought that too (for awhile) since he picked her!

Now to the After The Final Rose Show
I cant believe what happened! I knew something BIG was suppose to happen but I wasn't too sure what it was going to be. I was guessing maybe he decided he liked Deanna? Or maybe one of the girls was pregnant? I did not know that he was going to dump Melissa because he still had feelings for Molly! I thought he could of done that in person and not on TV! Melissa handled it very well and had A LOT of good comebacks! I agreed with a lot what she said. I think since he asked her to marry him he could of tried to work out their problems. My mom thinks Jason is just doing this for acting and has lost his mind. Natalia heard the producers made him act like he had a bigger connection with Melissa then what he really did. But anyways, he ended up telling Molly that he still has feelings for her and I guess their gonna try to get back together :( I feel bad for Melissa! Maybe she can be the next Bachelorette!

Armadillo Dash 5K Run

Yesterday I signed up to do the 5k Armadillo Dash with my friend Natalia. I had to wake up this morning at 5:30 to pick up Natalia to be at the race before 7. At 5:30 I was thinking man...why did I decide to do this! Haha! It was freeezzzing cold out this morning!! The wind was not as bad as yesterday but it was still pretty bad. Some people were wearing shorts and t-shirts. I would of froze! I ran/walked the 3 miles in 45 mintues Once I started going I warmed up fast! Natalia finished in 24 mintues since she runs the whole race. Natalia said that was a record time for her! Once I was done I was glad I did it! I felt accomplished by having my workout done for the day by 8:00 o'clock! Afterwards, Natalia and I went to Starbucks to treat ourselves! I will post a picture once Natalia's friend tags us in it on Facebook! (I forgot to bring my camera).

I cant wait till tomorrow for the season finale of the Bachelor! Natalia is mad because her friend texted her last night and told her the spoiler about who wins! So..no one tell me!! :)
