Kimberly's 23rd Birthday Party and Keepin' It Classy!

Saturday I went to Dallas for Kimberly's 23rd birthday....she had a party at her house Sat. night! It was fun! Kimberly goes to UNT in Denton and will graduate with a degree in marketing in May of this year! I didn't take to many pictures but here are a couple...

I got back to CS around 6:00....just in time for the Superbowl! I'm not really into watching football but I love the Superbowl commercials! Kristan came over to watch it with me! We had greasy food from Fatburger delivered, Kristan's homemade Apple Pie a la mode, and a glass of wine that I bought from the gas station! We keep it classy here in Texas! Ha! I'm glad the Saints won....especially since this is their first Superbowl ever! Who were you rooting for?

Change of Plans, Dear John, and My Celebrity Look Alike!

Change of plans! I ended up not leaving for Dallas yesterday because I had too much to get done (student teaching meeting, homework, laundry, packing, etc). So I am leaving this morning instead! Last night when I finally finished my philosophy of education paper Kristan, Cait, and I all went to TGI Fridays for dinner and to go see Dear John!

This week on Facebook is Doppelganger Week....you are supposed to upload a picture of a celebrity that looks just like you and add it as your profile pic! I went to MyHeritage.com to figure out the celebrity in me! It said that I looked most like Kelly Clarkson, Candice Cameron from Full House, and Drew Barrymore.

I ended posting this pic of Kelly Clarkson as my profile pic on Facebook....I kinda can see a resemblance!

Leavin' For The Big D

This afternoon I am going to Dallas/Denton for my best friend Kimberly's 23rd birthday! Her actual birthday is not till Wednesday but we are celebrating this weekend. She is having a party on Saturday that will be tons of fun! I will be back Sunday with pictures! Have a great weekend!

Past couple days and Bachelor Tuesday on Wednesday!

Thank you everyone for wishing me good luck on starting my field experience! I absolutely LOVE my mentor teacher! She is soo sweet and such a good teacher! I really think that I am going to learn a lot from her! Yesterday was my first day and it was also Groundhog Day! We read a lot of fun books about Groundhog Day, made our own shadows, and colored pictures!

One neat thing that my teacher did was she had the students draw names for secret pen pals for the month of February. They are supposed to write caring notes to their pal for the whole month and then at the end everyone will find out who their secret pal was! Today we did a lot of fun Valentine activities. My mentor showed the students how to make different animals out of hearts (like the ones below) and then the students got to create their own to hang up!

The reason I am sharing all of this is so that I can remember these ideas for my classroom! Also, I know a lot of teachers read my blog who are probably always looking for new ideas as well!

Sorry I didn't get to post about The Bachelor yesterday! Kristan, Candice, Cait, and I all watched it together Monday and ate HEALTHY spaghetti! Here are my thoughts!

Gia: I like her but I just do not think she is right for Jake. I think her hometown date will be interesting!
Vienna: Okay...why is she still there?! I do not like her!!! My mom thinks the last two will be between Ali and her.....that's why they are playing up the drama between them two. I don't know though! I thought it was hilarious when she was walking around the castle with that lamp acting like she was scared- didn't she know the camera crew was right behind her!!!!
Ali: I still like Ali....not as much as Tenley though! I thought it was hilarious how she jumped in the ocean with her boots on!

Corrie: I really liked Corrie...especially after what she told him. However, I thought their date was really awkward (boat ride). I think if she would of opened up more from the beginning it would of been better.
Tenley: She is my fav still! I hope she wins! Can't wait for hometown dates next week! :)

Monday - couldn't think of a creative title!

Tomorrow I start my field placement! I am so excited to meet my mentor and the first graders! Today I went shopping in hopes to find a couple of cute tops to wear this week. I found a cute leopard top at Forever 21 that I am going to wear tomorrow with black slacks! I also drove by the school to make sure I knew where it was...it looked really nice! I will let you know how it goes!

Did any of y'all watch the Grammy's last night? Taylor Swift won Album of the Year! I wonder if the whole Kayne thing helped her win all of these awards?Beyonce was another big winner of the night....And check out Britney's outfit...What was she thinkin?!

Tonight I'm going over to Kristan's for spaghetti and The Bachelor! Can't wait! I heard on ENews that Jason and Melissa from The Bachelor are getting married on ABC in March! I remember watching Trista and Ryan getting married....their wedding had way too much PINK!Hope y'all had a great weekend and start to your week!

So happy the weekend is here! I will probably not be able to do too much this weekend because I already have a huge project due this coming week! :( Today I found out my field placement for this semester - I will be in a first grade classroom! This semester I will be going into the schools two full days a week. I have always thought I wanted to teach the upper elementary grades....like 4th, 5th, or 6th. However, here lately I have been really interested in teaching the younger grades. I think it would be SO much fun to actually teach the children how to read. So pray for me as I start going into the classroom next week...I'm a little nervous!

This afternoon my mom had a doctors appointment in College Station so she is staying the night with me. She took me, Kristan, and Caitlin all out to eat tonight to the Olive Garden! It was yummy! Hope y'all had a great week!

Bachelor Tuesday

Welcome to Bachelor Tuesday!

Last night I went over to my friend Kristan's to watch The Bachelor! Since we have been so busy with school we decided to order pizza instead of cooking! BUT we worked out afterward so it doesn't count! Ha! Kristan has been doing a workout video called Insanity everyday now for three weeks. You would think a little workout out video wouldn't be hard but this one is really hard!

Okay...so now on to The Bachelor! What did y'all think of Gia's one on one date with Jake? I think she is sweet but I am not too sure if they go good together. She is from New York and he is a Texas boy. I felt like their whole date seemed kinda awkward. The group date this week was to the beach for a day of dune bugging and sand surfing. I couldn't believe that Vienna Sausage told Jake she did not want one on one with him to the very end! I really do not like her! I really think Jake started falling for Tenley on this date. I used to think Ali was perfect for him but I'm not too sure anymore. Now I really think Jake and Tenley are perfect for each other! She is my fav!Next, Jake had a dinner date with Ella and Kathryn at his place. He only had one rose to give at the end of the night so one of them had to go. Well at the end he ended up letting both of them go! I was really surprised he ended up letting Ella go - I thought their date last with with her son went great!
At the rose ceremony he was only supposed to kick off one girl but he kicked off two again - Ashleigh and Jessie! He sure does like kicking girls off! Maybe he will end up with no one at the end? Ha! I couldn't believe Vienna wasn't one of the ones he kicked off....what does he see in her?
