Sometimes if I get really bored!

3. Who was your first crush?

This guy in my junior high named Matt - we ALL just thought he was so HOTT! Ha! What were we thinkin?! My first celeb crush was Leonardo Dicaprio! For Christmas my sixth grade year my mom got me a Leo framed picture and a book about him!

Summer is a blast and extremely hot here in Texas!!!

I will probably not post for a couple of days because I'm leaving for San Antonio this afternoon. My best friend Kimberly's SIL's brother passed away Friday evening. He had brain surgery last Monday and then developed spinal meningitis after the surgery. Please keep her family in your thoughts and prayers.

Show Us Your Life: Hometown

Today on Kelly's Korner I'm sharing my hometown - The Woodlands, TX and where I'm attending college - College Station, TX!

I will start off first showing you College Station!

As most of you know the town of College Station, TX is home to Texas A&M University!!!

Gig Em!

One of my favorite things to do on the weekend is go to Northgate! Northgate is a little district known for it's famous restaurants and bars including, the Dixie Chicken!

Another famous restaurant College Station is known for is FreeBirds World Burrito. Freebirds started off in California...partners of the restaurant looked at 20 different college towns and chose to put the second one in CS, TX. Have y'all have had Freebirds? It's YUMMY!

The George Bush (Senior) Presidential Library is also located here at Texas A&M. I finally went this year for a class....it was actually pretty interesting! I thought it was going to be boring! Ha!

And I have not been here yet but really want too - Messina Hoff Winery and Resort! It's actually located in Bryan, which is right next to CS.

One last reason what I love about living in CS is getting to go to Santa's Wonderland at Christmas! You can either take a Christmas light tour on a hayride or by driving your own car! It's gorgeous!

Now onto The Woodlands, TX

My favorite part about living in The Woodlands is the shopping, restaurants, and the river walk!

Here's the new part of our mall (I guess not so new anymore) - Barnes and Nobles, The Cheesecake Factory, PF Changs, Anthropology, Urban Outfitters, Pottery Barn...

The Woodlands River Walk was built a few years ago and it is slowly growing. They already have a few restaurants on it already! I wonder if it will ever been like San Antonio's one day? I love eating on the river walk! Have y'all ever been to The Goose's Acre?

What is your town like?

American Idol, Pictures, Books, and a New Blogger!!!

I have heard that many bloggers are having MAJOR issues with other people stealing their images/text from their blog. I have decided to copyright my blog for protection. Click on the copyright image link below my header if you want to copyright your own blog

I have been spending most of my week hanging out by the pool - yes, I'm still job hunting too.  I have an interview Friday...hopefully it goes well! I think my mom is a little jealous that I'm on summer vacation already. Ha! She works in the schools too as an educational diagnostician.

So who do you think is going to win American Idol? It's down to Crystal and Lee. I hope Lee wins! He has such great talent and is cute!

I'm terrible about developing pictures! I have tons of frames in my apartment but with no pictures in them.....or the picture in the frame is the picture that was in it when I bought it. Yesterday I decided to get some of my pictures printed!

Summer goal number one - CHECK! OK - I just noticed I have two of the same pictures on my leopard bulletin board thingy.

I have been working on building my classroom library. The other day I bought two new books - The Snowy Day and A Bad Case of Stripes. I did a lesson on The Snowy Day this semester with my 1st graders on transition words. And I just love the book A Bad Case of Stripes...have y'all read it before? Each month I'm going to purchase a few books so I will have plenty for when I start teaching.

My "real life" friend Kristan who guest blogged on my blog the other day has decided to start blogging again! I decided I would write her first post for her - go check out her blog here! Hope she keeps it up this time! :)

Wishful Wednesday: Bedroom

WisWishful Wednesday - Bedroom

' I Wish' I could come home to

this bedroom! I love the green wall with black/white decor in this room. I think it is too cute! My room right now is done in just black/white...I think in my next bedroom I will definitely have an accent wall.

I'm really starting to like the colors light blue and green. My apartment is done in more bold colors right now. I think in my next place I may switch to more "cool colors" (if I can afford it) ha!

or this bedroom! I love the brown and blue in this bedroom. It looks so peaceful. I would love to paint an accent wall
Tiffany Blue one day!

or this bedroom! Sorry I have three pictures (I couldn't choose). I love all the purple in this room! So pretty!

What does your dream room look like?

Last night my friend Kristan guest blogged on my blog....if you wanna go read it click here!

Have a wonderful day!

Guest Blogger: Kristan

Hey all! I'm Kristan, one of Christa's "real life" friends is what I guess you would say! Tonight, I have the privilege of spending time with Miss Christa and being her first official Guest Blogger. (I capitalized "guest blogger" so that I would feel super important).

I was elated when Christa asked me to do a guest spot on her blog a couple months ago. I am a blog stalker fellow follower and enjoy reading all of her posts. I will even admit to reading many of her follower's blogs as well! (Ya'll all seem so sweet and nice! :)...) Christa inspired me to create a blog of my own last summer. However, I have to be truthful and say that I have not posted in about 9 months. BUT it is something I am thinking about continuing and being more consistent with this summer. (ok, Christa is really actually guilt trip, peer pressuring, encouraging me to get back on it ;)...)

Speaking of summer, I am happy to report that I have officially been on summer vacation for a solid week! I am on the sublist for a district I interned at this semester, and currently on the summer job hunt, but I don't count that! Last week I was able to get caught up on my bubble baths and reading. I really enjoy Emily Giffin and read the book, Love the One You're With. Christa is now reading it! I was also introduced to the Chelsea Handler books and have become a fellow fan! HILARIOUS! The last one I read was really good titled, Best Friends Forever- the writing was very similar to Emily Giffin's with a crime scene twist. Very good.) Anyway, those books helped me to stay busy during my first few days off. New problem: I don't know what else to do with any of my time! I have been bugging Christa and our friend, her cousin, Caitlin to go to Hobby Lobby with me so that I can begin some kind of project. I love projects. :) Do any of ya'll ever feel this way? I was beyond excited and could taste sweet summer on my lips as I anxiously turned in the bajillion and one projects due and completed my finals. I could NOT WAIT to have absolutely nothing to do. Now, I find myself only a week later, twiddling my thumbs and looking for something to do! Am I crazy?...or perhaps just a typical girl in that I always want what I don't have? ha!

Anywho, enough about me, and back to our FOC (friend in common) and star of this cute blog, Christa. I had an interview today (please pray for me!) and after, I picked up Christa to go to lunch and rant and rave and rehash all past events since we had last seen each other (about 24 hours) like girls do. We analyzed my interview and decided to do some retail therapy to get our minds off of our current jobless situation. We went to Hobby Lobby where we enjoyed looking at everything and then were saddened to remember that being jobless, we also have no money. So, we bid adew to the craft and home decor and went to the mall. We tried on those rompers that are becoming quite a fashion statement. (What do ya'll think of those? I know Christa has blogged about them before) I have one and I am in love with how comfortable it is, I just hope it looks decent on me! Fortunately for us nothing was to die for, therefore we did not have to call the "loan sharks" aka mom and dad for a more than necessary fashion emergency.

We forgo working out and decided to try a new low carb, no sugar desert. (I love baking and sweets! Unfortunately my midsection doesn't) Well, it was DISGUSTING. Luckily I thought I had found the mother load of treasures at HEB, cake and icing mix made from Sweet N' Low!!! I threw out the first dessert attempt and busted out the cake mix. Bad idea. Somewhere between a taste of cardboard and 6 year old chocolate would be what I would use to describe this "cake". I promptly asked Christa if she would like to accompany me to my patio as I played frisbee golf with the cake. She followed me to look out over the balcony. As I picked up the sponge of a cake, found my target, and set to aim, a brilliant idea popped into my head. I looked at Christa, and being the wonderful friend that I am, proceeded to smash the concoction all over her face! Bucket List Item #478 is now checked off! And do not worry fellow followers, I did not let her escape without pictures for her blog and documentation!

And now for your viewing pleasure:

Well, I apologize if this post was long winded! I hope that people read it so that Christa will invite me back! Thanks for reading and hope ya'll have a wonderful rest of your week!

~Kristan
