SUYL Master Bedroom (and Living Room)!

This week over at Kelly's Korner is Show Us Your Life Friday! Today is master bedrooms!

I wasn't able to participate last week for the living room tour so I'm going to show you my living room and bedroom!

My living room....

My living room is probably my most favorite room in my apartment! Last year we painted it a goldish tan color and I love it! This picture was taken before my aunt made my curtains...

Here's a picture of my curtains! Aren't they cute?!

I decided to do my living room in black, red, orange, and leopard!

I ♥ my bakers rack! I bought the little lamp at Hobby Lobby!

And now my bedroom....
I used to have my lamp on this little black table. I bought the lamp at Target and it was only like $20!

 Thanks for stopping by!

Show Us Your Life: Hometown

Today on Kelly's Korner I'm sharing my hometown - The Woodlands, TX and where I'm attending college - College Station, TX!

I will start off first showing you College Station!

As most of you know the town of College Station, TX is home to Texas A&M University!!!

Gig Em!

One of my favorite things to do on the weekend is go to Northgate! Northgate is a little district known for it's famous restaurants and bars including, the Dixie Chicken!

Another famous restaurant College Station is known for is FreeBirds World Burrito. Freebirds started off in California...partners of the restaurant looked at 20 different college towns and chose to put the second one in CS, TX. Have y'all have had Freebirds? It's YUMMY!

The George Bush (Senior) Presidential Library is also located here at Texas A&M. I finally went this year for a class....it was actually pretty interesting! I thought it was going to be boring! Ha!

And I have not been here yet but really want too - Messina Hoff Winery and Resort! It's actually located in Bryan, which is right next to CS.

One last reason what I love about living in CS is getting to go to Santa's Wonderland at Christmas! You can either take a Christmas light tour on a hayride or by driving your own car! It's gorgeous!

Now onto The Woodlands, TX

My favorite part about living in The Woodlands is the shopping, restaurants, and the river walk!

Here's the new part of our mall (I guess not so new anymore) - Barnes and Nobles, The Cheesecake Factory, PF Changs, Anthropology, Urban Outfitters, Pottery Barn...

The Woodlands River Walk was built a few years ago and it is slowly growing. They already have a few restaurants on it already! I wonder if it will ever been like San Antonio's one day? I love eating on the river walk! Have y'all ever been to The Goose's Acre?

What is your town like?

Show Us Your Life: Favorite Children's Books

I haven't participated in Kelly's Show Us Your Life in a long time! I figured I would join in this week! Maybe I can get some good book ideas from all you bloggers!

I'm a future teacher so I obviously love children's books! I'm starting to build my classroom library now so I will be have a lot of books for when I start teaching next year! Here are a few of my favorite books for children!

My all time favorite book is The Rainbow Fish! It's a book about morals, being an individual, and sharing. I did a podcast on this book this semester for my Language Arts class.

Thank You Mr. Falker is a great book for children who are having trouble learning to read. I won't say too much in case you haven't read it.  It's a great story!

One of my education teachers came to class dressed up as Miss Nelson last semester and read this book to us! It was pretty funny!

I LOVE all of the If You Give A Mouse A Cookie book series!

And of course I love all the books by Dr. Seuss! One of my favorites is the Foot Book - it's the first book I learned how to read!

And my all time favorite chapter book is Number The Stars - it's about the Holocaust of the Second World War.

Also, as a child I loved the Junie B. Jones chapter book series...there hilarious!!

What are some of YOUR favorite children's books? Teachers or Parents - what books should I for sure get for my classroom?

Show Us Your Life- Favorite Vacation Spot

SI can finally participate this week in Kelly's Show Us Your Life tour! I haven't been able to join in on the tour the past few weeks because it's been about wedding's. (I hope I can post about my wedding in the future). Ha!

Favorite Vacation Spot: My favorite vacation destination would have to be Destin, Florida!

I love Destin! My family went to Destin this past July and we usually try to go every summer. I think we have been going for at least the past 10 years. When I think of a vacation I think of relaxation. The ultimate form of relaxation, to me, is sitting on the beach, reading a magazine (preferably People) , a tropical drink in my hand, and with my toes in the SAND!

I also love the good seafood in Destin. We usually eat Mexican at home so on vacation we try to eat seafood about every night! Some of our favorite places to go are Dewey Destin's, AJ's, Pat Obrien's, and The Boathouse Oyster Bar. I love Dewey Destin's because it is on a dock so it's a great place to watch the sunset.

Sunset at Dewey's
The Boathouse Oyster Bar is an interesting little place. The inside is covered in $1 bills!

Pat Obrien's is a resturant in New Orleans and they just opened one up in Destin on the Harbor. This year was our first year to go and we loved it!! We went on the 4th of July, so we got to watch the fireworks as we were eating!

On the Harbor at Pat Obrien's

This is the drink I ordered there...it was called Rainstorm. It was tropical and fruity just like I like!
When we go to Destin we always stay at the Pelican Beach Resort that is across the street from Big Kahuna's.

The gorgeous view from our balcony

Sunset on the Beach - July 2009

In July 2007 my best friend Kimberly got to come to Destin with us! I ♥ this pic of us!

Destin 2007

About to go parasailing! I have only done this twice...I am not brave enough to do it every summer! My mom and I went last summer and I don't think I talked the whole time we were up in the air! Ha!

Another thing we like to do is go sailing! It is so relaxing especially at sunset!

This is how I always feel when we leave Destin, Florida! Depressed that vacation is OVER!

Hope ya'll enjoyed the tour! Thank's for visiting my page! Go to Kelly's page and post about your favorite vacation spot!

Show Us Where You Live Friday- Black/White Bedroom

Over at Kelly's Korner she does a post every week that's called "Show Us Where You Live Friday". This week is the Master Bedroom tour. I moved into my apartment last August and I decided I wanted to do my bedroom in all black/white. I really like how it turned out!

Hope you enjoy the tour!

View from my bedroom door

I really like my comforter...it's really comfy and doesn't get too hot. I like to be cold at night and in Texas it get's way to hot in the summer! I think I got it at Target/Wal-Mart last year. Sorry I forgot which one! My sheets are black and white pin-stripped.

I bought these cute mirror hangings at Ikea last year

I have had this wicker night stand ever since I was like one year old. It was white but when I moved into my apartment last August my Dad painted black for me! I thought it turned out pretty good! I bought the black and white polka dot candle at Hobby Lobby. And of course on top of my night stand are my People Magazines!
The lamp I bought at Target. My mom LOVES the story behind this lamp. It was marked $80 and we thought that was really high. It's cute...but it looks like it's actually made pretty cheap. So my mom asked the manager about the price and he thought the price sounded really high too. So he sold it to us for ONLY $25!!! My mom always loves good deals!

I bought two black and white picture frames to hang in my room. I believe I got the frames at Garden Ridge. I printed out the photos in black and white too.

I love this little shelf I bought at Target. The picture on the right hand side is one of my senior pictures. I am sitting in a black and white chair shoe. I bought the LOVE sign at Garden Ridge. Isn't that little bag cute? It's just a gift bag....I thought it matched perfectly!

Here are the black and white curtains my Aunt Tina made me! I think they turned out really cute! She just finished making some red/leopard curtains for my living room....I cant wait to see them!

Here is my little study corner. This is where I spend my time studying for school, blogging, and checking my Facebook/Myspace.

Thank you for visiting my blog!

Show Us Where You Live Friday-Living Rooms

Over at Kelly's Korner she is hosting a thing every Friday to show off a room in your house. Last week was the Kitchen Edition and this week is Living Rooms. I live in an apartment in College Station and attend A&M University. I moved in last summer and was so excited about decorating my apartment. I decided to do my living room in red/black/orange colors.

Here is a view from my kitchen of my living room

My mom gave me this bakers rack last Christmas. I love it! Also, I bought those orange/red pillows at Pier 1...it took my mom and I FOREVER to find the perfect pillows to match!
My TV I am so proud of! I bought it with my Vegas money I won last year.

I love this picture! I got it a couple months ago from Garden Ridge.

5:00 o'clock Somewhere

My couch used to be under that flower picture (I got it from Target last year) and the chair used to be under the window. I decided to rearrange it a couple of months ago and I think it looks much better like this! It brings the picture out much more.
I am wanting to paint one of the walls in my living room a reddish color. What wall do ya'll think I should paint? The one where the chair is, where the window is, OR where the TV is?
