Guest Blogger: Kristan

Hey all! I'm Kristan, one of Christa's "real life" friends is what I guess you would say! Tonight, I have the privilege of spending time with Miss Christa and being her first official Guest Blogger. (I capitalized "guest blogger" so that I would feel super important).

I was elated when Christa asked me to do a guest spot on her blog a couple months ago. I am a blog stalker fellow follower and enjoy reading all of her posts. I will even admit to reading many of her follower's blogs as well! (Ya'll all seem so sweet and nice! :)...) Christa inspired me to create a blog of my own last summer. However, I have to be truthful and say that I have not posted in about 9 months. BUT it is something I am thinking about continuing and being more consistent with this summer. (ok, Christa is really actually guilt trip, peer pressuring, encouraging me to get back on it ;)...)

Speaking of summer, I am happy to report that I have officially been on summer vacation for a solid week! I am on the sublist for a district I interned at this semester, and currently on the summer job hunt, but I don't count that! Last week I was able to get caught up on my bubble baths and reading. I really enjoy Emily Giffin and read the book, Love the One You're With. Christa is now reading it! I was also introduced to the Chelsea Handler books and have become a fellow fan! HILARIOUS! The last one I read was really good titled, Best Friends Forever- the writing was very similar to Emily Giffin's with a crime scene twist. Very good.) Anyway, those books helped me to stay busy during my first few days off. New problem: I don't know what else to do with any of my time! I have been bugging Christa and our friend, her cousin, Caitlin to go to Hobby Lobby with me so that I can begin some kind of project. I love projects. :) Do any of ya'll ever feel this way? I was beyond excited and could taste sweet summer on my lips as I anxiously turned in the bajillion and one projects due and completed my finals. I could NOT WAIT to have absolutely nothing to do. Now, I find myself only a week later, twiddling my thumbs and looking for something to do! Am I crazy?...or perhaps just a typical girl in that I always want what I don't have? ha!

Anywho, enough about me, and back to our FOC (friend in common) and star of this cute blog, Christa. I had an interview today (please pray for me!) and after, I picked up Christa to go to lunch and rant and rave and rehash all past events since we had last seen each other (about 24 hours) like girls do. We analyzed my interview and decided to do some retail therapy to get our minds off of our current jobless situation. We went to Hobby Lobby where we enjoyed looking at everything and then were saddened to remember that being jobless, we also have no money. So, we bid adew to the craft and home decor and went to the mall. We tried on those rompers that are becoming quite a fashion statement. (What do ya'll think of those? I know Christa has blogged about them before) I have one and I am in love with how comfortable it is, I just hope it looks decent on me! Fortunately for us nothing was to die for, therefore we did not have to call the "loan sharks" aka mom and dad for a more than necessary fashion emergency.

We forgo working out and decided to try a new low carb, no sugar desert. (I love baking and sweets! Unfortunately my midsection doesn't) Well, it was DISGUSTING. Luckily I thought I had found the mother load of treasures at HEB, cake and icing mix made from Sweet N' Low!!! I threw out the first dessert attempt and busted out the cake mix. Bad idea. Somewhere between a taste of cardboard and 6 year old chocolate would be what I would use to describe this "cake". I promptly asked Christa if she would like to accompany me to my patio as I played frisbee golf with the cake. She followed me to look out over the balcony. As I picked up the sponge of a cake, found my target, and set to aim, a brilliant idea popped into my head. I looked at Christa, and being the wonderful friend that I am, proceeded to smash the concoction all over her face! Bucket List Item #478 is now checked off! And do not worry fellow followers, I did not let her escape without pictures for her blog and documentation!

And now for your viewing pleasure:

Well, I apologize if this post was long winded! I hope that people read it so that Christa will invite me back! Thanks for reading and hope ya'll have a wonderful rest of your week!

Awww what a great guest blog! I usually skim over guest blogs but I saw Chelsea and I had to stop by!! I Love Ms Handler she is super funny! Her books had me rolling all over the floor dying of laughter! I want to check out the Love the one your with book, I always take book titles for their most literal meaning and then end up disappointed BUT this one looks promising!

Anyway I hope you get back to blogging! I would totally be a follower =D
