The Final Vacay Post!

This is my last vacation post....I promise!

Our last day in Colorado we went back to Breckenridge to ride a slide down the mountain. We went up the mountain on a ski lift then had to ride back down on the slide. We were pretty funny getting on and off of the ski lift! Ha!

Afterwards, we went to a little river that ran through Breckenridge. It was so pretty! The water was FREEZING cold though! Wish we could of got in!

Later, that day we went to Vail again to go to the Betty Ford Alpine Gardens. I'm wanting to get into photography so I had fun taking some pictures of all the flowers!

That evening we ate at this yummy restaurant in Vail called the Ore House Restaurant. I ordered the pecan crusted halibut fish topped with guacamole - it was SO good! One thing I noticed while in Colorado is that everyone had a dog. I guess if I moved there I would have to get one!

Well...as we were sitting on the lovely patio in the village enjoying our dinner a girl walks by with her dog and it started pooping EVERYWHERE! As her dog was trying to do it's business she embarrassingly said, "(insert dogs name) you know better than that" as she was trying to get him to stop, ha! We were grossed out but thought it was pretty funny too! I think she was humiliated! Her mom had a to run and get a baggy to put it in! Sorry if that was TMI!

That's the end of all of my vacation posts! We had a great time! I loved the weather in Colorado and everyone was very friendly. I was sad to leave! I think next time we want to go during the winter season! :)

Happy Wednesday!

Vail, Colorado - Vacation Post Part Three!

Our second to last day in Colorado we spent the day in Vail. I loved Vail....it is so pretty. Vail is about a twenty minute drive from where we were staying in Copper Mountain. Do y'all remember Trista and Ryan from The Bachelorette? They were the first couple to get married on national TV. Well...Ryan works as a firefighter in Vail and they live around there with their two kids. I made my dad drive by the Vail Fire Department to see if we could spot Ryan. I know, I know your thinking....these stupid people travel all the way to Colorado to spy on Trista and Ryan Sutter, ha!

We didn't end up seeing Ryan. My mom was wanting me to act like I was having chest pains so we could go into the fire station to have them check me out, ha! She is about just as bad as me!

But as we were walking through the little village in Vail we did spot a firetruck! It wasn't Ryan's but I still took a picture by it. I wasn't going to but another lady did so I thought what the heck! I wonder if these firemen know why all these women are taking pictures by their firetruck?!?! I'm sure they give Ryan hell!

***************************************************************************

Vail is a lot like Copper Mountain...except a little more crowded during the summer. It is a little village with shops and restaurants. That day we ended up eating at this little restaurant by the river.

This is not the restaurant we ate at but I had to take a picture....I thought it was so cute! It is a little German place...I love the patio!

Here are some more pictures of us posing for the camera!

Over looking Vail

Vail had a lot of beautiful flowers that I had to get some pictures of too!

Have y'all ever been to Vail? Are you sick of my vacation posts yet?! I promise....I'm almost done!

Vacation Part Two - Black Hawk and White Water Rafting!

Our third day in Colorado we decided to hit up the casino's in Black Hawk! Black Hawk is about an hour drive from Copper Mountain. When we first arrived all what we saw were little whole in the wall casino's...I was getting really disappointed, ha! However, there ended up being some bigger ones! We ended up gambling at this place called Ameristar Casino and Resort - it was SOO nice! It was also a non-smoking casino. We wanted to stay the night there but they were all booked so we ended up staying another hotel across the street.

My favorite thing to play at the casino is craps and the Wheel of Fortune slot machines! I about evened out that night.

Sporting my new romper!

The next morning we gambled a little more and I ended up winning $250 on the Wheel of Fortune slot! I was soo happy, ha! The machine went off for about two or three minutes! I couldn't believe it it! : )

That afternoon we drove back to our condo in Copper Mountain (the only reason we stayed in Black Hawk for the night is because we got a really good deal on our condo in CM - it only cost us $200 for the whole week)!

The next day we went white water rafting down the Colorado River! We had a guide take us - his name was Gabe and was about my age. It was so fun! We did a level 2 out of 5....we wanted to do something pretty easy since it was our first time. However, I think it was TOO easy for us! I thought the Guadalupe River in Texas was rougher than what we did!  It was really pretty though - the scenery was gorgeous!

Me and my Mom on the river!

Gabe did most of the work...we had to paddle a few times. I felt bad!

My Dad aka Bob

Have y'all ever been white water rafting before? What level did you do?

Hope your having a great start to your week! : )

Colorado Vacation Post - Part One

Hey everyone! We got back from Colorado late Friday night! We left the Friday before last...we had a very early flight! We had to get up by 4:00 so we could be at the airport by 5:15! We do not fly often so we are quite comical at the airport because we never know what to do, ha! But I love flying...my favorite part is taking off and landing!

We arrived in Colorado early Friday morning - it's an hour earlier there than it is in Texas. Have any of y'all ever been on the automatic bus at the airport? It's kinda like an underground subway...we had to get on one at the airport in Denver. That thing about scared me to death! My parents got on the bus first and then as I was about to get on the doors starting shutting....so I just stood their looking stupid. My dad was yelling "get in"! And I was yelling "NO just go"! And the bus was saying, "your holding up the bus"! So finally I went through the closing doors and THREW by bag on the floor! I bet people were thinking these people must not travel much! Can't ya tell how adventurous I am? Ha!

We had to rent a car and the drive to Copper Mountain was about an hour and a half. The ride up there was beautiful! I couldn't believe all the mountains! Here are some pics....I took these out of the car window.

One of the many waterfalls!

There was still a little bit of snow on the mountains!

We finally arrived to our resort a little after noon. Copper Mountain is really close to Vail and Breckenridge. Have y'all ever been there before?

The resort was like a little village - it had a fire station, shops, restaurants, etc. It was SOOO dead though. No one was hardly there. I'm guessing it is packed during the winter season. If you don't like crowds then this is the place you need to go!

Here's a picture of the shops and restaurants

We stayed in a little condo - this is the view from our balcony! Isn't it gorgeous!

The next day we went to Frisco, CO for a BBQ Competition Cook-off! The cook-off signs were pretty funny so we had to get some pictures!

My dad's name is David but we call him BOB since he is just like his dad! We thought this sign fit him perfectly! Doesn't he look thrilled, ha!

Los Nerds!

Me with my yummy Margarita!

Corn on the cob! I love carnival food!

Later that day we took a trip up to Breckenridge! I think I like Breckenridge better than Copper Mountain... it is a little more crowded!

Me and Bob, ha!

Here is some pictures by the river in Breckenridge!

We wanted to ride a gondola up to the top of the mountain but it wasn't open yet so we took a ski lift instead. It was beautiful up there!

Me and my dad on the top of the mountain!

Look closely at this picture!

That night we had Italian food back in Frisco...We were worn out when we got back to the condo! I think the high altitude got to us!

More too come!!! I hope you don't get sick of my vacation posts this week!

Have a great night!

Packin' for Vacation, Foot Massage, and Bachelor Pad!

One more day till we leave for Colorado! I'm SOO excited! We usually go to the beach for vacation so I always know exactly what to pack....swimsuits, flip flops, sundresses, etc. I'm having a hard time trying to decide what to buy/take to Colorado! It's supposed to be in the low 70's during the day and 40's at night so I'm trying to pack clothes that I can layer. However, I heard it was SNOWING last week where we are going! Crazy! It's going to be so much different than this HOT humid Texas weather!

Yesterday I went to go get a pedicure so my toes will look nice for vacation. My favorite part of the whole thing is getting my feet massaged Well....the lady did not even massage them! I was ticked! She massaged my legs for about one minute each and that's it! The woman sitting next to me got like a five minute massage on each foot. I was jealous! Especially, when she kept saying, "oh this feels so nice". I about told my lady that if she kept rubbin' I would give her a better tip, ha! Does that ever happen to y'all?

For all you Bachelor/Bachelorette fans - ABC is coming out with a new show in August called, Bachelor Pad. Twenty memorable contestants from the previous seasons are all going to stay in a house together! It should be interesting!

Meet the hosts...Melissa Rycroft and Chris Harrison!

Some of the contestants include Jonathon aka "The Weatherman", Craig M., and Jesse from Ali's season. Tenley and Gia from Jake's season. And Kiptyn and Wes from Jillian's season! Can't wait to tune in!

Remember Erica Rose who was on Prince Lorenzo's season of The Bachelor? She was the socialite from Houston, Texas - aka "Tiara Girl". Wonder why they did not pick her to be on the show?

Or what about Trish from Jesse Palmer's season? She was CRAZY!!! Wish they picked her too!

Well I'm gonna finish packing and then I'm off to Houston!

Have a great day!

Style Watch and Being Adventurous!

Happy Wednesday!!! I used to hate Wednesday's but I'm actually starting to like them.

I just applied to be a caregiver for a couple's two children this summer...I hope I get the job! : ) I have been applying to restaurants ALL week and no one will hire me!

Have y'all heard of Romper's? My cousin tried on one the other day and I loved it on her! I think I'm going to buy one! I'm wondering if it would look good on me though since I'm so short? Did you know I'm only 4'11?!

What kinda shoes would you wear with it? Heels?

My dad bought our airline tickets last night for Colorado!!! We leave in about a month...I'm excited! This is going to be a different kind of vacation for us. We are usually the type of family that is used to just sitting on the beach soaking up the sun with a Pina Colada in our hand. However, this vacation is going to be way different...we are going to be adventurous! We are planning on going white water rafting and mountain climbing! How long do you think we will last?! My mom thinks it sounds like a grand idea now but wait until we get there! Ha!

Have y'all ever been white water rafting before? I'm thinking we are going to go on the slowest route and have a guide. Is it really that scary?

Hope y'all enjoy your day!

Did y'all watch the Academy of Country Music Awards last night?!  I was so excited that Lady Antebellum won top vocal group of the year! I love their song, "Need You Now".

Lady Antebellum

And I was also excited Carrie Underwood won Entertainer of the Year! She is so talented!!

Keith Urban and Nicole Kidman before the show....do y'all like them together?

********************************************
Do y'all remember a couple of weeks ago when I mentioned that my family got a really good summer vacation deal from a close friend....well we decided on the place we're going!!!

Copper Mountain, Colorado!! It's close to Breckenridge!

Have y'all ever been to Colorado during the summer? What would be the fun things to do, visit, or see?
