2/24/11 - 2nd BLOGIVERSARY

Today is my 2nd Blogiversary! I cannot believe that I have been blogging for over two years! I started blogging in Febuaury of 2009 when I was a junior in college. The reason I blog is so that I can journal my  life experiences...I know that in the years to come I will love looking back at my old posts!

New Blog Design and Grab My Blog Button!!!

As you can see.....my blog has a new look! I was kinda getting tired of all the pink, green, and black! My past two layouts have consisted of those colors so I wanted something a little different this time!!! I think it is sooo cute and funky! Thank you so much Miranda over at Little Sailor Designs for designing it for me! 

She also designed a blog button for me....sooo grab my button (you can find it on the top right corner) for your blog!!!

NEW BLOG LOOK!

As you can see my blog has a new look! I kept my old design for about a year and decided it was time for a change! I just love the polka dots....SOO cute! Miranda over at Little Sailor Designs designed it for me! Miranda is so easy to work and super quick! She did a fabulous job! Go check her out! : )

300th Post, It's Getting HOT in Here, and Comedy Time!

Hey everyone! This is my 300th post! Thank y'all so much for continuing to read my blog!

Yesterday we went out to the pool for a bit before heading to Houston. It is sure getting HOT in Texas! I miss the cool Colorado weather! At the pool I studied for my EC-6th grade content exam I have to take in a couple weeks. Hope I pass it! This will be my second time to take it.....I passed the ESL exam with no problem however, the content exam seemed a little more difficult (obviously since I did not pass). Do any of you teachers out there have any good studying techniques I could use for studying for this test? I bought the study guide so I hope that helps!

Last night my friend Kristan invited us to the Improv Comedy Club in the Marquee Center in Houston!  Have ya'll ever been to a comedy club before?

 We had a great time but we had HORRIBLE service! Our waitress only took our drink orders once....we had to hunt down the manager to order a second round.

New Header for Blog!

Leslie over at Sweet Baby's Custom Blog Design  created a new header for my blog! I wanted to stick with the zebra theme because I'm still in love with animal prints! I had her change some things up and add new pictures! I love it!

Getting to Know YOU Sunday!

It's Sunday....so that means it's time for "Getting to Know You"!

1. What color do you wear the most? 

Does leopard count? I would say I wear leopard the most out of anything!

2. Would you rather have 10,000 dollars or a dream vacation? 

Hmm...probably 10,000 dollars....so I could spend it anyway I wanted. I could use that to go a on a dream vacation! 

3. Do you have a weird, quirky, or unusual habit? 

I can't believe I'm actually posting this....but here for the past few years I have felt like there has been something stuck in the back of my throat. I even had an endoscopy done that proved nothing was there. Anyways, I sometimes make this weird noise to clear/itch my throat. It drives my mom and friends CRAZY! Ha! But you have to say...I have gotten better and don't do it as much now!!! 

My mom gave me this card last year - I thought it was funny rude! Ha!

4. I really need to start....

Finishing the last little things I have left of school stuff!

5. What was the first blog you have ever read?

My second grade teacher's blog, Mrs. Hintz! I didn't even know what a blog was until I started read her's! Then I found Kelly's from Kelly's Korner and really liked it. By reading both of their blogs inspired me to start one of my own - According to Christa!

6. Do you collect anything? 

Not really.

7. How old where you when you had your first kiss?

I think 14.

8. Do you text/twitter while driving?

I'm not going to lie and say I never have. It's really dangerous....so if I do text I try and do it at a stop light.

As you can see According to Christa has a new look! Since it's a new year I decided to get a custom blog design! Leslie @ Lamberts Lately designed it for me and I absolutely love it!!! 100th Post!!!!

I can't believe it but this is my 100th post!!! I started blogging in February of this year and at the time I had maybe like a handful of people reading my blog. Mostly just close friends and family members! I remember the only comments I would get were mostly from my mom. Ha! Now I have over 50 followers...thank you to everyone who enjoys and reads my blog! I really encourage everyone to start writing in a journal, creating a scrapbook, or starting a blog....it's a great way to capture and share memories! I think it will be so cool to look back at my blog years from now and to see what I was up to in college!

Yesterday I went out to lunch with my friends Natalia and Kristan to La Bodega. The tacos we had were so yummy! If you live in College Station or come visit go eat there! Later Natalia and I met up with my cousin Caitlin to go lay out by the pool. It wasn't too sunny though. But we all had a good time catching up. Caitlin and I decided to make a trip up to H.E.B yesterday evening to get stuff to make for dinner. Well let me tell you about our trip coming back home....

To get back to our apartments from H.E.B we have to pass a shady area of College Station. Well anyways as we are driving we see this lady standing pretty much in the middle of the street waving at us in front of a gas station. We thought she was hitch hiking and she also looked like a drug addict. So we pass her and a second later I tell Cait to STOP!!! This 18 wheeler starts backing up in the middle of the road and was literally about to hit us. I told Cait to blow her horn...but the truck kept on moving. I was about to jump out of her car! Anyways the truck did not hit us...thank God.

The lady that was waving comes running up to Cait's car. Cait rolls down her window to tell her she was really sorry and that she did not realize that was the reason why she was waving at us. This lady starts screaming at the top of her lungs and cussing at us saying, "I cant believe you did not stop! That 18 wheeler has the right to back up and pull into this gas station". We were both appalled. Caitlin said a few words back to her (I wont say exactly what she said...ha) then we sped off. I mean come on...did this lady really think we did not stop on purpose? Trust me if we knew the reason why she was waving and if we would of saw the 18 wheeler we would of stopped!

Sooo anyways....Ha! I got an email last night from the people that might hire me. They said they went through my application carefully and that they want to do an interview on Saturday. I am really excited....kinda nervous though! But I am sure everything will go fine! I hope everyone has an AWESOME weekend!! :)

I finally gave in!!

Hi everyone! I finally gave in and decided to start blogging. I know of some people that have blogs and I thought I should start an online journal as well. I am 21 years old from Houston, Texas (actually north of Houston). I am currently attending Texas A&M University. This is my second semester at A&M and I really like it here! I am majoring in early childhood education and plan to graduate in December 2010. I'm really excited about becoming a teacher! I would love to teach the 4th grade. I have been subbing for the past 3 years for a local school district and I have really enjoyed doing that. When I am not studying I love hanging out with friends, going to the movies, eating Mexican food, and watching reality TV. Who do you think will win the Bachelor? I am hoping Melissa wins from Texas!

This past weekend I went home to celebrate my friend Kailee and Kyle's Bday! We all went out Friday night...it was really nice to see everyone again. On Saturday I went to see the Legally Blonde Musical in Houston with my mom, some of her friends, my aunts, and cousins. It was a lot of fun! Afterwards, we ate at a Mexican food resturant in town.
