Shoo Fly Go Away and Frozen Gramwiches!

Last night Caitlin, Matt, Matt's brother, and me ventured out to Lake Bryan to go to Lakeside IceHouse that has a really nice patio overlooking the lake. I have been wanting to go to this place so I was so excited! However, it was a total let down! When we arrived the rude bar tender informed us that the only thing on the menu for the night was chicken sandwiches and burgers. We all ordered burgers that were literally ready within 3 minutes...I'm guessing that they had been sitting out. As we set down our food, flies start swarming our table. Not just a couple flies but like 20. People also had there wet sweaty dogs on the patio as well. We were disgusted! Looks like we won't be going back there! I was bummed out because I was looking forward to eating somewhere different! However, I did manage to take a pretty picture of the sunset!

I mentioned like over a month ago that every Wednesday I would do a "Weigh in Wednesday" post. Well...that did not happen. Since I'm out of school for the summer I have no excuse not to start exercising and eating healthy. I have been doing Jillian's 30 Day Shred...I like it so far! Yesterday I wet grocery shopping and bought a lot of healthy foods. I also found some recipes in The Biggest Loser Cookbook that I'm going try!

Tonight I cooked salmon and asparagus. I was disappointed in the salmon. It was kinda fishy! I bought the salmon at Wal-Mart so maybe that's why! Do y'all know any good salmon recipes that will take away the fishy taste? Or where do y'all buy salmon at?

But this dessert recipe from The Biggest Loser Cookbook was delish!!

Frozen Gramwiches!

2 whole low-fat graham crackers
1/4 cup light or fat-free frozen whipped topping

Break the crackers into 4 squares and spread the whipped topping on two of the crackers. Then place the other two crackers on top. Freeze for about 2 hours and then you have yourself a Frozen Gramwich! It's only 150 calories!

YUM!

Have a great night! :)

Follow up Appointment

Summer is a week away!!! :)
I have been going to the movies a lot this week. Last night we went to go see Obsessed with Beyonce...it was soo good! It was a thriller but I love those kind of movies. The middle of this week is dead week at school. I have classes tomorrow then that's it....I just have to study for my finals. I have 2 finals online this week and a 7:30 am final on Friday uhhh. Then next week I have two finals at Blinn. I am hoping I do good in all my classes!

Today I had my two week follow up appointment with my dietitian. I was kind of nervous about going because I haven't been too good. I wrote everything down I ate for the first three days then my birthday came and messed me up. Then on top of that it is hard eating healthy when I have so many tests and projects due at the end of semester. I almost cancelled my appointment today but didn't. When I got there they weighed me and I have lost 2 pounds! I do not know how that happened! But I was honest with the lady and told her I haven't been counting my calories since my birthday. She said if I mess up one day that it is fine...I just cant mess up for a whole week. She wants me to continue eating 400 calories for every meal, write down what I eat, and exercise. She also wants me to come see her again in 3 weeks. I told her that my family is thinking about going on a beach vacation in July...so maybe that will motivate me!!So afterwards, I went to Wal-Mart and spent more than I should have on healthy foods.

Well I am going to go get back to studying. Tonight Kristan and I are going to watch DWTS at 7. But instead of sitting on the couch and watching it we are going to go work out in her gym and watch it! :)

Appointment with the Dietitian

Today I went to the Bryan Women's Center to see a Dietitian. I am wanting to lose like 15-20 pounds and needed to go get some advice. The lady I met with was really nice and helpful. I told her my eating habits and why I want to lose weight. She said for my height and weight right now I would need to eat 1400 calories a day to lose 1 pound a week. She said it is ALL about counting your calories!! For breakfast, lunch, and dinner I need to intake 400 calories. And then for snacks for the whole day I can have 250 calories. She also gave me this little book that has meal plans in it and on the go meal plans. She had all the restaurants in College Station and what the best thing to eat at each restaurant is. Even Los Cucos!! She told me to write everything I eat down and come see here again in 2 weeks. So afterwards, I went to Walmart and bought some of the things that she recommend for meals. I am starting tomorrow! So wish me luck! If I do this I could lose 16 pounds healthily by August 21st. Which means I will look good for the start of next semester!!

Here is a picture of me from Summer 2007...I thought I was fat then...but looking back I think I looked pretty good!! This was when my mom and I were working out with that personal trainer. Wish I would of kept it up!

It's Almost the Weekend!!

I have been really bad about blogging this week! I have been busy doing presentations and projects all week. I had a literary element project due in one of my education classes over the book Number the Stars. On Wednesday I had to be the "teacher" and teach the literary element of theme. I am hoping one day I can use what I learned from this project to teach my students the literary elements to Number the Stars (if I teach the fourth grade). It is a really good book about a little girl and her family who live in Copenhagen during the Holocaust in World War II. Her best friend is Jewish and has to come stay with her so she will not be found by the Nazi's. I remember reading this book in the seventh grade and loving it. I would recommend reading it!
On Tuesday I had to do a presentation with my group for our INST class. We had to discuss the topic of GT students. We have been working on this project ALL semester long. Tonight we went to Buffalo Wild Wings to celebrate being done with it!! I was glad that Matt got saved by the judges in American Idol this week. I felt Lil' should of been the one to get kicked off. This coming Monday I made an appointment with a Dietitian here in Bryan. I heard she is really good. I am hoping she can give me a plan on what I need to eat everyday that is healthy, quick, and easy. I would love to be able to lose 15-20 lbs. Well finals are ALMOST here so that means school is over soon! Hope everyone has a great weekend! :)
