Matt's Ring Dunk Party and Jessica Simpson's Engagement!

Last Friday, Matt (my cousin Cait's boyfriend) got his Aggie Ring! Getting your college ring at A&M is a really big deal...the tradtion is to dunk your ring in a pitcher of beer (I'm sure you remember me telling you all about this past September when I got my ring).  Friday night Matt had a party at his house and he dunked his ring with two of his friends! Here are some pictures that I took at the party....

Okay.....so what do y'all think of Jessica Simpson's engagement? I'm a huge Jessica and Nick fan....I was devastated when they broke up, ha! Last week Nick proposed to girlfriend Vanessa Minnillo and just a few short days later Jessica get's engaged! Very interesting! Is it a coincidence or a race to the alter? What do you think?

Part Two - Ring Dunk Party!

After we got our Aggie Rings on Friday we headed over to Matt's house for our ring dunk party - Matt is my cousin Cait's boyfriend! Thank you so much Matt for letting us have our party at your house! The Aggie tradition is to dunk your ring in a pitcher of beer after you get it. My cousin Caitlin got her ring back in May but she decided to wait to dunk her ring so she could dunk with us! Matt also had a few of his friends who dunked with us as well.

 For food we had hot dogs, chips, dips, queso, and beans! We set up tables outside for all the food....I love our maroon, white, and black balloons!

My Aunt Shannon made us these pitchers - aren't they cute?! There is a bell on the side of each pitcher that  says 1-800 CALL MATT! Ha!

Aggie Bling - Ring Day!!!

I had a busy but fun weekend! Friday was ring day here at A&M! My friend Kristan and I were so excited to finally get our AGGIE RINGS! After you complete so many hours at A&M you can get a ring! The tradition is to dunk your ring in a pitcher of beer after you get it! I was SOO nervous about that part!

My parents and best friend Kimberly came with me to get my ring. I had to work Friday so I waited until the 5:15 time slot to get my ring. Getting your ring is a pretty big deal so everyone gets pretty dressed up!

Pink Eye and Ring Day!

Well....I have pink eye. This morning when I woke up my right eye was hard to open, crusty, and red (sorry if that was TMI). I wasn't sure if it was pink eye or allergies. So when I got to my placement this morning my mentor teacher told me I better go the doctor. I just got back from the clinic and sure enough it's pink eye! She gave me an antibiotic and told me to stay home for the day. Hopefully, it will be better by tomorrow!

 

I'm secretly kinda happy I have pink eye, ha! I have SOOOO much to do today! Tomorrow I'm getting my Aggie Ring and tomorrow evening is our dunk party! My best friend Kimberly is coming in tomorrow for the party...I'm excited! Today I need to clean my apartment, do laundry, go shoe shopping, and get a manicure! My mom has always told me that when I was little that I was always the happiest sick child! Haha! Guess I still am!

Yesterday I went shopping all over for a dress for Ring Day. I went to Kohls, TJ Maxx, Macy's Forever 21, Ross, and Target, I ended up buying a cute dress from Target....Thank God I found something!

Aggie Ring and Wishful Wednesday!

Aggie Ring Requirements: 

• 90 hours earned undergraduate (cumulative hours) - CHECK
• 45 hours earned undergraduate (resident) - CHECK
• 2.0 cumulative GPA or higher - CHECK

I have met all the requirements to order my Aggie Ring! Woo Hoo! Today I went to the Alumni Center to order it in the pouring rain! We are having some bad weather here today. I ordered a 10K Yellow Gold ring with a 5pt diamond! It will look something like this.....

Wishful Wednesday....Careers

' I Wish'....I had the opportunity to change careers and it would be to become a celebrity/entertainment news anchor! 

Seriously...how much fun would it be to be able to meet all the celebrities?

Don't me wrong....I'm super excited about becoming a teacher but I think this job would be fun too!

Bling Bling AGGIE RING!!!

Yesterday my cousin Caitlin got her Aggie Ring! Getting your Aggie Ring is a really BIG DEAL because it's one of our traditions at A&M! Every A&M Senior gets one and every ring looks the exact same except for your graduating year! It's suppose to serve as a common link for former students...when an Aggie sees another Aggie wearing the ring its like a reunion. After you get your ring another tradition is to dunk it in a pitcher of beer! I'm sad because my friend Kristan and I do not get our rings until August! Cait is going to wait for us to dunk her ring! Isn't that SWEET of her?! In August we are going to have a big party and all do it together!! I can't wait! :)
