Miss. Viola Swamp

This week is Red Ribbon Week - Drug Awareness Week at school. Each day the kids/teachers get to dress up differently. For instance...

Monday - Backwards Day
Tuesday - Wear Red
Wednesday - Storybook Character
Thursday - Crazy Sock Day
Friday - Wear your favorite team t-shirt/jersey

Today we got to dress up as our favorite storybook character! The kids looked SOO cute! Some of my favorites were Fancy Nancy, Pinocchio, Cat In The Hat, and Pinkalicous! My cooperating teacher was the Grouchy Ladybug and I was Miss. Viola Swamp from Miss. Nelson is Missing. We were joking that we were going to tell our kids that they better be on their best behavior today, ha!

I had so much fun putting together my costume. I went pretty simple though....I think I only spent $5! I wore a black dress with white/black striped tights and a name tag that said Miss. Viola Swamp. I used some cream blush to make my cheeks a rosy red and black eyeliner to make warts!

Meet Miss. Viola Swamp.....

It was a fun day! But the kids were pretty wild! Any change of schedule or routine gets them all stirred up! This morning I read the book Miss. Nelson is Missing to the students. They loved it! Another first grade teacher was Miss. Nelson today!  : )

So do you think I did a good job dressing up as Miss. Swamp?!

Have a great evening!

You looked AWESOME!!! Oh my goodness! You're outfit rocked. :) Our theme for today was "mis-match" day and tomorrow is PJ day. Too bad it's also conference day, which means we are NOT allowed to take part in tomorrow's theme. :( Boo. The ONLY day, EVER, I could've worn sweatpants/sweatshirt and gotten away with it. Oh well.

Anyway, you are going to be such a PHENOMENAL teacher!!!!

Great idea! We have a book character parade instead of Halloween parade every year and I think I might use this one one of these days!

Oh I LOVE your outfit! That sounds like so much fun!! We've had dress up days this week, too. Ours were: Team up against drugs (wear your fav. team shirt), Drugs are Tacky (wear tacky clothes), Stomp out Drugs (wear your favorite books), and I can't remember what today was called...something about wearing red! I love the storybook character dress up! SO cute!
