An Old Friend, Accessories, and a Question for Teachers!

Today I went and had lunch with an old friend! Sharon went to the same school as me growing up and recently moved to Michigan. I haven't seen her in about in three years so it was good getting to catch up! We ended up going to Chuy's for Mexican food! Sharon said she needed her Tex-Mex fix!

I decided to crimp my hair today because I did not feel like blowing it dry/straightening it. What do ya think?

After lunch I ran by Sam Moon to buy some accessories!

I bought this cute flower headband and some Texas shaped earrings!

I'm now back in College Station. Next week I'm going to a substitute orientation for the district I will be student teaching in. Supposedly, I can sub up to four times for my mentor teacher and get paid! : )

Teacher Bloggers - what stores do you get most of your clothes for teaching? I'm in desperate need of some new clothes before I start student teaching. I'm thinking I'm going to hit up Ann Taylor Loft and New York and Company sometime next week!!! What other places should I go?

Have a great afternoon!

Your friend lives in Michigan? Awesome!!

I must say, I'm not a huge fan of the crimped hair, but I think you'd probably still look cute with a shaved head:)

I'm not a teacher, but I do think you're right on track with the Ann Taylor Loft for teachery clothes:) That's one of my fave stores!

Definitely the Loft! I just went on Monday and racked up on some great pants and tops for fall! I even found a cute first day of school dress on sale! :)

Ann Taylor gives discount for teachers & another store does too!! But I can't think of it right now!!? J Crew gives discounts to students with their ID~ you can always find great basics there! I love Forever 21 too- they always have cute skirts & tops! Gap is also a great place to find good deals & basics!

Hope this helps:0)

Ann Taylor Loft! I used to work there actually. Call your local Loft and see if they are having a back to school event for teachers. I know next Tuesday my Loft is giving teachers 20% (I believe) off!

I think the crimped hair is cute! It's always fun to mix it up! Ann Taylor Loft is a great place to buy clothes for teaching! I get lots of mine at New York & Company! You never know where you'll find teachery clothes! I find some cute items at random stores sometimes!

I love the stores you mentioned for all my clothes! I also like Banana Republic (even better if you can find a BR Outlet near you...I even get my husband's clothing at that store).

I love the headband so cute. I love JcPenny for tops for school. They are cheap. Generally fashionable. Cheap which means it doesn't matter if they get messed up!

I teach Kindergarten and am on the floor with my kids alot so I get a bit dirtier than say an upper grades teacher so, I try to buy all of my clothes machine washable. I do get lots of things at Stein Mart. Also, Gap, Banana Republic and J Crew are my favorites.

Ann Taylor Loft and NY&Co are great stores. Also try out Banana Republic's sale section, Gap, Old Navy is great! Also, remember comfy flats are a must once or twice a week. Can't wait to hear what you buy!

I love shopping at The Loft. Besides with a school I.D. you get 15% off. I also love Marshalls. They have had some really cute tops lately. I have become somewhat obsessed with ruffles. New York and Company also have a discount for teachers. Love Target too! Old Navy has some good deals too. For the next two days you can get layering camis for only $2. Don't forget to have some comfortable shoes too! Thank goodness they are making cute and comfortable shoes these days!

I just found your blog from Jenna's blog hop. I was a teacher before becoming a SAHM. My problem with teaching high school girls when I was right out of college was I had to be careful where I shopped - once or twice I had on some of the same clothes. . .
Anyway, you can never miss with the Loft. Do you have Kohls? I always had good luck with their stuff, especially black, brown, grey and navy pants. Those often got me through the bulk of the seasons. Also, I stocked up on lots of camis for under shirts, never wanted to show my bra or such if I was bending over to help a student.
LandsEnd.com also has great basics in their Overstocks area. Good luck with teaching, you will love it!

I shop at NY&Company all the time for my teacher clothes... along with Target and Old Navy! It's so easy to find fun "teacher looking" clothes there and a lot of the times there are huge sales! Good luck - I'm sure where ever you go you'll find great pieces! :)

I love that headband and I've been wanting to find one for myself like that!

I have recently invested in Ann Taylor Loft, Banana Republic, Chicos and believe it or not, Target. Last time I was there they had CUTE clothes!! Clothes that are perfect for teaching, too!
