Day Trip to Houston!!!

Hope y'all are having a good week! Yesterday morning I had an eye appointment in Tomball and the doctor said that my eyes looked great! No glasses!

After my doctor's appointment my mom and I ventured out to Houston! We went to lunch and to the Houston Museum of Natural Science! I always love going to the museum during the summer and going to go see an IMAX movie!

For lunch we ate at this little French cafe over in West University. We were really disappointed...the food was horrible! For dessert I wanted to go to this neat cupcake place called Sugarbaby's Cupcake Boutique but it was closed! I was bummed! I blogged about it last year...it looks like such a fun place!

Here is a picture of the inside....

I did take a picture outside by the sign though!

I love the part of Houston where the museum is located..it is so pretty! The trees are gorgeous!

There is a flower growing at the museum called the Corpse Flower and only so many have grown in the United States. They typically grow in rainforests. Supposedly, whenever it blooms it smells like dead flesh! They have been talking about it everywhere...I first I heard about it on the radio! It is bringing thousands of people into the museum and the museum is staying open 24 hrs a day till it blooms!

We bought tickets for the Butterfly Center at the museum! Here are some pictures!

Isn't this orchid beautiful?!

FAVORITE picture!

I learned that every year humans eat tons of insects my mistake. Would you ever try these?! BBQ, Sour Cream and Onion, and Cheddar Cheese flavored insects!! YUCK!

We also went to an IMAX show! We saw Dolphins and Whales!

And my mom's FAVORITE part of the whole day....going to Kegg's Candy!  Kegg's has been around for years and my mom used to go ALL the time when we lived over in Houston (now we live in one of the suburbs outside of the city). It's located in Meyerland. Once when I was little I threw up all over the counter! How embarrassing!

Here she is with her bag of candy! She bought TWO POUNDS of chocolate covered almonds and chocolate turtles! YUMMY! Can you believe how much she bought?! At least the $50 was well spent! Ha!

I'm sure all of it will be gone by tonight! : )

Afterwards, we went to the Farmer's Market in Houston to buy some fresh fruit and veggies!

Plums and Peaches!

I bought some more avocados so I plan on making some more Guacamole this week! We had a fun time! I love going to Houston!

Have a great evening!

Oh how I love sugarbaby's.I'm sorry it was closed it truly is a shame to miss out on. But other than that it looks like you had a awesome day. ( I thought about going to the see the corpse flower but then decieded I would just check out the web cam they have on it. My luck it would bloom and the smell of rotting flesh would make me very sick.)
