Today was my last day with my 1st graders :( These past few months have just flown by! This morning my mentor teacher had a brunch set up for us...we had doughnuts and juice. I thought that was so sweet of her! I really have liked my mentor....she is such a nice person. She has been teaching for about thirty years....I have learned so much from her! I really couldn't have asked for a better mentor teacher and school. I'm so excited to be able to do my student teaching with her next year! :)
My kids were so sweet today....they told me they didn't want me to leave and each one of them gave me a card they made! Here is a picture of some of the cards I got!
This afternoon I gave each student the letter I wrote them....I think they really liked it!
Tomorrow I'm supposed to have class all day at A&M however, I have been invited to go to the zoo with my 1st graders....so I'm going to do that instead! All the kids were so excited when I told them I was going to be able to go with them! I'm glad my instructors at A&M are letting me go and not counting me absent. Because in all my classes if I miss one time I drop a letter grade!!

Aw that is precious that your class made cards for you! I always hated saying goodbye to the classes that I worked with in college. They were the most precious children. What is even worse is after having them the whole year. I seriously cry at the end of every school year.
don't you hate how teachers don't allow you to miss. I mean we are paying them to teach us, we should be allowed to miss if we want!!! I now u are sad about leaving your 1st graders! That's a hard thing to do. Have fun at the zoo!!!

Aw that's so exciting and cute. Last days at placements were always so sad... you get so attached! But once you get that first class that's yours it's a whole new type of attachment... but so much FUN!

I love field trips! I was lucky enough to go with my teacher friend Carrie and her 1st graders the last 4 years. Such a fun field trip. I was just talking with her today about planning something fun for her kids at the end of the year!

I love it when kids make me handmade notes! Those are precious. You'll get plenty more of those when you student teach and when you have your own class! It's fun to be loved, isn't it?!
Don't you hate how we drop a letter grade by missing ONE class!! It is the same way at OSU! I will be student teaching in 1st grade next fall too! :0) We will have many stories to share! Have soo much fun at the zoo!

That is so cute! I start student teaching on Monday morning!! My students will be 12-13 year olds though, which is a bit scary!
I love the picture of girl with the big eyes and the one with the fancy black hair style and ear rings. I drew rocks every day in 1st grade (and colored them brown!) I was not in GT (obviously!)
