So happy the weekend is here! I will probably not be able to do too much this weekend because I already have a huge project due this coming week! :( Today I found out my field placement for this semester - I will be in a first grade classroom! This semester I will be going into the schools two full days a week. I have always thought I wanted to teach the upper elementary grades....like 4th, 5th, or 6th. However, here lately I have been really interested in teaching the younger grades. I think it would be SO much fun to actually teach the children how to read. So pray for me as I start going into the classroom next week...I'm a little nervous!

I think 1st grade would be a blast!
hehe...have fun in 1st grade :) Its better then kindergarten, is all I have to say! haha. On a serious note, you'll love it-at times, and other times you'll be so annoyed. But, normally if you're only there a few times a week it will be all roses for you. They will love you!
I just blogged my Bachelor Tuesday too!
Work from home India
First grade is a lot of fun! I did half of my student teaching in a 1st grade class, half in a 5th grade class, and now have been teaching 4th grade for 2 years! I loved each grade that I've worked with! First graders are so cute and say some of the funniest things! You'll love it! Be sure to let us know how it goes!
Oh I bet you will be super good with 1st grade - Just be open minded and enjoy watching the kids develop in front of your eyes! :)
Glad you had some yummy Olive Garden!
I taught First grade and loved it. The kids are still sweet and I like teaching reading. Have fun!
Good luck!! You'll do great and have a blast!!!

I taught first grade and loved it! It was hard work, but very rewarding.
Aw you're going to have so much fun. First graders are sweethearts! Good luck with your project girlie!
Good luck :), I just know that you will do wonderful with the kids!
Christa I love your blog! I will become a follower forsure!
Good Luck with the 1st Graders! My daughter's 1st grade teacher is the most patient looking woman I have ever seen in my life! There are only 13 kids in that class, but if I was her I'd be totally homocidal by the end of the day!
First grade is going to really open your eyes to whether you want older grades or younger grades! I teach second grade right now & I am actually wanting to move up to older grades after this year. You are going to LOVE it though. Good luck with being there for two days a week! You can do it! :) Let me know if you need any help with lessons or ideas.
I think that teaching the younder children would be so rewarding. I wish you lots of luck.
I'm glad you got to spend some time with the family and got to go to Olive Garden. Yum!
First graders are a lot of fun. I taught at that level for three years and only went on to something else because we moved. Teaching kiddos to read is extremely rewarding and fun! It is definitely a good thing to student teach at an age level that you are unsure of because it will definitely answer your questions and give you a good feel of your teaching comfort zone.
PS. LOVE your Bachelor reviews. I will have to remember not to read your posts early in the week though because I live in Germany and my friends and I don't watch until Friday nights because we record from the US and there is a 9 hour time difference. Lots of drama so far this season!
Will be praying for you as you decide what age you want to teach. I think I would love to teach one day, but need to get my degree. Hope you had a wonderful weekend!
First grade is such a fun age! You will have a blast and learn alot, I'm sure!
random comment :) i'm an RIDICULOUSLY obsessed with your amazingly cute blog.
Good luck! I student taught first grade and loved it. I then taught 3-6 year olds for four years and that is my favorite age!! I am working with K-2 now and I still love the little ones. It's funny though because most teachers either love the little ones or love the older ones. I don't usually meet any one that loves them all! :)
