Cake Balls, Sushi, and Paint Tape - I know RANDOM!!

So my friend Kristan is rooming with me for five days this week since she cannot move into her apartment until Sunday. She needed a place to stay while she was working this week. Kristan absolutely LOVES to bake...I mean this girl would bake something everyday if she could. Her favorite is cake. I told her the TLC show Cake Boss needs to hire her! Ha! She has been wanting to teach me how to bake so the other day we baked Cake Balls. Kristan got the recipe off of Kelly's Recipe Blog and they are soo yummy! They are also SO easy to make....

1st- Pick out any cake mix you want. We chose yellow cake mix.
2nd- Bake the cake according to directions on box
3rd- When the cake is still hot crumble it in a bowl and mix with a can of frosting
4th- Refrigerate bowl for about an hour
5th- Melt almond bark (white or chocolate) into bowl and dip balls into bark

AND YOUR DONE!! THANKS KRISTAN FOR TEACHING ME HOW TO BAKE! HA!

Last night my cousin Caitlin called to see if Kristan and I wanted to come over to her boyfriend Matt's house for awhile. Kristan decided not to go since she was really tired from work and wanted to rest. So I went for awhile...Matt just moved into a new house and it is SO nice! It's not at all the regular college guy's house! Matt had bought some Sushi he wanted Caitlin and I to try. I have never had Sushi before and neither had Cait. We were a little nervous before eating it as you can tell by our faces in the picture below. Ha! It was soo GROSS! We both didn't like it...I think Matt got the Sushi at a supermarket. I have heard before that Sushi is usually better if it is good Sushi? I really do not know what that means? Do ya'll like Sushi....where can you eat good Sushi at?

I got back to my apartment last night at like 11:00 and I was thinking I would probably find Kristan passed out on the couch. But this is what I found when I walked in....

Kristan had surprised me and had taped up my whole living room/kitchen so I can paint it this weekend! I was so surprised....I told her she did NOT have to do that! I felt bad that I was out having fun and she was in here taping up my apartment! I thought she was going to be relaxing and sleeping while I was gone! THANK YOU SO MUCH KRISTAN! This really helped me out a lot for when I paint on Saturday!

Hope everyone has a great weekend! I will post pictures on Sunday of my newly painted apartment!!

What a good friend! The cake balls look gooooood!!! I love sweets. I'm not much of a sushi eater, well I guess I've never tried it, but I don't think I will either. Have fun painting. Can't wait to see it.

Wow, a friend that bakes and gets your room ready to paint?!? She's a keeper!

I'm not a fan of sushi so I'm no help, but I have heard that you should try a place that specializes in it and it makes a big difference.

Ok I must try this cake ball thing.. I keep hearing about it but your instructions make it sound so easy!

What a sweet friend to tape up your apartment.

Oh and sushi... never tried it but the thought makes me gag a little so I don't know that I ever will...

Those cakeballs sound YUMMY!!! Will have to try!

There's so many different kids of sushi...if you didn't like normal sushi, try the ROLLS. They are really good! I usually like the rolls that have "cooked" seafood in them - like the crunchy shrimp rolls. There's also a roll that's called a volcano roll that's good--it's a fried california roll with spicy, creamy sauce.

Ah, yes, cake balls. I have made them before - Very tasty!

I eat sushi at Haiku in the Albertson's parking lot. Their James 007 Roll and their New California Roll are my favorite. Throw in some edamame and you are good to go!
