Back to School and Sneek Peek Of My New Place!!!

I'm so sorry I haven't posted in awhile. I have been busy moving, unpacking, and working! Last Monday was the first day of school. I was in resource as an assistant but they moved me to Head Start. Head Start is a program that promotes school readiness. I think it is going to be a great experience. Last week we went on Home Visits which was very interesting! The Head Start children do not start until this coming Thursday so we are going to be busy getting the room ready this week.

I love my new apartment! I moved in not this past weekend but the weekend before. My dad and Kyle were here to help me! Kyle is letting me borrow his couch which was SUPER heavy to move. I live on the third floor so it was hell carrying it up. It literally took us over an hour to get it up the stairs!

I have everything pretty much unpacked. I'm still working on my bedroom though. My dad is going to bring up my dresser sometime this week so I can finally unpack the rest of my clothes. But here is a little sneak peek of my kitchen/dining area!

I finally have a kitchen table!!! At my old place I always had to eat on the couch. My cousin Caitlin has the exact same table from Hobby Lobby. I think it is so cute!

My fav part about my whole apartment is the utility room! I finally have a full size washer/dryer!

Adios APT. #527!!!

I finally moved out of my apartment!  It seemed like it took us FOREVER to pack everything up. I'm so glad to be done. However, next weekend I will be doing it all over again when I move into my new place...ugh!!!

I started my new job on Friday! We met at a church in College Station early Friday morning to listen to the district message. I think it's going to be a good year!

SPA Party, Moving, and New Apartment!

Last week my friend Kristan hosted a SPA party at her apartment! Kristan's mentor teacher from last year is a beauty consultant and demonstrated some products on us! It was very relaxing. Kristan makes a great hostess....she had bruschetta, ceviche, chicken dip, brownies, wine, and sangria for us! :)

We finished painting my apartment this morning. We still have a lot more packing and moving to do today. I cannot wait till everything is done! I'm hoping to have it all packed up by Thursday since I start work Friday morning.

AND FINALLY.....I signed a lease yesterday for an apartment in Bryan! I'm so relieved that I found something! I move in on the 20th! 

UPDATE!!!!

I figured I would give y'all a little update....

I move out of my college apartment this coming Friday! I cannot believe that I have lived here for over three years! I sure do have a lot of crap! I haven't been able to find a full time teaching job so the plan was to move back home and sub. Well while we were on vacation the principle from the school I did my student teaching at called me and offered me a paraprofessional job (which is a teacher's aide). Supposedly, all the paraprofessional's from last year got hired this year as an actual teacher. After a lot of thinking, I decided to take the job! I figured it would be a great way for me to get my foot in the door! However, now I'm trying to find a place to live since I'm staying in College Station. I thought about commuting but thinking about being in the car for over two hours each day does not sound fun at all! I'm really hoping I can find a place soon! I start my new job on Friday so I will let y'all know how it goes! : )

Beach Vacation - Gulf Shores/Orange Beach, AL!

I cannot believe that I am just now posting about our trip to Gulf Shores, AL! We decided a couple weeks ago to book a last minute vacation to the beach. We usually go to Destin every summer but everything there was full so we decided to stay in Orange Beach. We thought Gulf Shores/Orange Beach was a lot like Destin!

Alabama is about a 9-10 hour drive from Houston so we stayed the first night in Biloxi Mississippi. We love Biloxi but we had NO LUCK this time! We stayed at the Hard Rock Casino. I was really hoping to come back rich! : )

The next morning we arrived in Orange Beach. The white sand and clear water is gorgeous. During the day we mostly just laid out by the beach and at night went out to eat/listened to live music. We went to this one bar called Florabama that was on the Florida/Alabama state line. It was a pretty fun place!

We had a fun trip! I already wish I was back on the beach! This is going to be a really busy week because I'm moving from my college apartment/starting a new job! I will do another post on that later!

Gulf Shores Alabama!!!

Yesterday we booked a last minute vacation to Gulf Shores Alabama! This is our first time to go to Gulf Shores! We usually vacation in Destin FL but we couldn't find a place to stay. Tonight we are stopping in Biloxi Mississippi to do some gambling! Hopefully I do better in Mississippi than I did in Louisiana!

If you have ever been to Gulf Shores/Orange Beach before what restaurants/bars/places would you recommend us going to? Thank you for your help!
